Curious question. Some older travellers prefer business class for that comfort. They're not frequent fliers, may not even have a membership. I had a look at the AirNZ site and they list AirNZ lounges and partner lounges.

Taipei and Vegas for example are not listed. If a passenger buys a business class fare do they get lounge areas in those places?

At LAS (Las Vegas) you would have access to the United Club in Terminal D. United Clubs are basically just rooms with seats and power points in them, with a buffet of like 5 miscellaneous foods. Very forgettable. At Taipei (TPE) you would gave access to the SilverKris Lounge, Eva Air lounge, China Airlines Dynasty lounge, Plaza Premium lounge or Evergreen lounge. Singapore Airlines' lounges are usually very nice, especially if you have access to a SilverKris lounge rather than a KrisFlyer Gold lounge (usually SilverKris is reserved for First Class passengers and Singapore Airlines' own elite customers). You're kind of spoiled for choice in TPE.

Business Class passengers on an AirNZ ticketed flight can access any AirNZ-affiliated lounge on the day of departure.

If you have a business class ticket with no status (e.g. Gold) then you will generally only be accepted into one lounge selected by the airline that is operating your flight out of that airport. There is a list at the Air NZ website for Air NZ operated flights. You note some airports are missing, in that case you'll probably be told at check in which lounge you must use. Air NZ doesn't operate their own flights to/from Vegas so if you're on a business class flight operated by e.g. United then I assume you'll probably be able to access the United lounge.

If you have status (e.g. Star Alliance Gold) then you can access most (if not all) Star Alliance lounges at the airport your departing from. So you can either use your ticketed entitlement to access the lounge selected by Air NZ or you can use your gold card to access a different Star Alliance lounge if you prefer.

On a NZ business class ticket with no status you will get no lounge access at LAS. Domestic UA first customers don't get lounge access as a benefit of the ticket. You would only get lounge access with *G status.

The LAS lounge is totally forgettable and not worth visiting - I visited yesterday simply to get some breafast and the options were cereal, some berries and yoghurt. Along with some sweet bread that was pretty much it.

If you want lounge access at LAS the Amex Centurion is the only loung worth visiting.
