https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/news/111606433/air-nz-announces-sweeping-changes-including-launch-of-new-seoul-route-following-companywide-review

Air New Zealand is making some major changes to the way it operates following a company-wide review.

The changes include a new service to South Korea, free wifi on international flights and a revamped economy product.

The new direct service between Auckland and Seoul will be launched in late November.

Typical Stuff... "revamped economy product" but no explanation of what is actually changing - is it more or less than before?

@sbiddle do you know?

He's posted more details on traveltalk:

https://traveltalk.nz/news-opinion/air-new-zealand-launches-non-stop-services-to-seoul-new-business-premier-seats-free-in-flight-wifi-as-part-of-strategic-review/

I should have used this link instead.  New business class product too, wonder what sort of product they're switching to?  Herringbone was becoming a bit out of favour

They haven't revealed the new seat yet. I've heard speculation it may be very similar to the new Upper Class seat Virgin Atlantic are revealing in a few weeks (Air NZ use the same BP seat at present which is also licenced from Virgin Atlantic)

No matter how they spin it, long-haul economy will always be sh*t, and real sh*t when airlines retain 10 across on 777s.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Batman: Is there WiFi on Tokyo flights?

No, at least not on the Dreamliner flights because none of the Dreamliners have WiFi at present. At certain times of the year the 777 ends up on the route, and many of these do have WiFi.

Years ago Korean Air had a B747 flight from Christchurch.   Not sure if it was seasonal, via Australia, or direct.  I only remember because a Korean couple asked me to take a photo of them with the plane in the background!  In the days when CHC had the observation deck.
