Hey Geekzone,

TheWIFE™ is heading over to Switzerland for a couple of weeks and we're investigating grabbing a sim card for her whilst she's there.  Looking for recommendations if anyone has them! Her NZ provider is 2degrees and the roaming charges are horrendous.

Usage will mostly be data as we'll use the likes of WhatsApp to message. May include the odd call though unlikely. So data is the primary need and knowing her....lots of it!

Her handset is an Oppo R15Pro (in case that limits networks any).

TIA!

Just remember 2degrees provides Wi-Fi calling so she can still use her NZ SIM card when connected to Wi-Fi at zero cost

I have used Wi-Fi calling around the world with no issues and her handset is on the approved list

Aware of that. Gotta plan for no Wifi though.

That also makes me think: Anyone done any testing of WiFi calling vs using something like calling in Skype, WhatsApp, Hangouts, Facebook etc etc?  Which uses the least data?

If she's going to Switzerland for a couple of weeks the roaming charges will be the least of your worries. Switzerland is beautiful, safe, charming and f@$king expensive.

You didn't need that second kidney, did you?
