Hello

 

I've to get a further 277 status point by August to attain Gold.

 

Is it worthwhile to take (buy tickets with real money) a few short trips to achieve Gold?

 

I do have a few trips from Wellington to Auckland planned but that's not enough because a few points would be eliminated by August. As you know AirNZ only count the points from the previous 12 months.

That's a huge number of SP, and at best effort is going to be around $2000 worth of flights, realistically closer to $3000 based on typical flying.

What benefit from Gold do you see being worth being that? Since you obviously don't fly very often IMHO it simply doesn't make financial sense to be doing status runs for such a high target.
