I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more comment here on Branson's space plane trip. One thing I wonder about: This seems very reminiscent of the X-15 flights in the 1960s. The plane is bigger and carries passengers, of course, but  it is dropped from a carrier, just like the X-15, and goes to about the same altitude. Is this a fair observation? Is there really anything new to this?
