seeing some conflicting info, wondering if any other users here can add value

-Happy to roam, with VF (one) and not fussed about the $ per day.

Is this an option around the island? I see a lot of details using their hotspots, or an esim directly associated with the local VF distro

Will chat directly with one tomorrow, however, experience from others always helps to paint the picture of what's available.

You can easily get a Raro eSIM before you go and have it loaded onto your handset and activate it when you land and still on the plane

I have used a Raro hotspot option a number of times and had no issues and Wi-Fi calling works fine over it (2degrees)

Edit: Have visited Raro many times so know it very well

Not sure why you would need to call OneNZ tomorrow - The Island has no coverage issues

OneNZ is only a roaming partner of Vodafone Raro and OneNZ do not come under Vodafone group anymore

Mainly because I have no issues paying the NZ roaming charge, it seems to conflict with signal availability on the island depending on where you are.  It's not clear on a per day roaming charge or at a "hot spot facility"

Secondly, the site you highlighted seems to be from the CK, and differing from that the local providers are referencing.

Could we compare it to roaming to AUS, per day charge and use as if local in NZ accordingly

" hot spot facility " is zero related to OneNZ you purchase vouchers from the local shops for x amount of $$ / days / data bundle size

Mobile coverage availability is great right around the Island and the 4G+ is fast (no 5G) but it is just roaming same as roaming in any other country

Spent a week there in January roaming using One NZ daily roaming. Mobile coverage is strong and fast essentially everywhere around the island. No problems at all. I think there is a lot of legacy content online from before Rarotonga was connected to the world via fibre.

Seeming that way, thought better to ask in the here and now

Yep. Can confirm the roaming is fine. A couple of times things got "stuck" and i had to enable flight mode and back again to kick it back to life. I think this might been a local issue rather than roaming.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
