I have imate Jasjar and imate Pocket PC Phone Edition. With both these devices I had no problem syncing with AS 4.0 I installed AS 4.1 and the JJ won't sync at all. AS doesn't recognize the device. However, the imate PPC syncs. I rolled back to AS 4.0

I accessed the MS help - www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx - but to no avail.

What could be the problem ? Help appreciated.

Ninad.

Have you checked that there are no firewalls conflicts, and have you changed the configuration as per MSFT recommendations?

Also, make sur you installed the software while the Jasjar was disconnected from your PC. You can reinstall it if you want.

Then check that you are connecting directly to a USB port, not a USB HUB.

I also have a problem syncing with oulook 2003, AS4.1 and Wm5. The PC connects tot my Qtek9000. Qtek start syncing and detects that there are 113 contacts in Outlooks. Its sows for a short tome 0/113 and then shows 'synchronized', but there are no contacts copied ! When i make a new contant on the qtek its syncs an empty record tot the PC. When i change a contact in Outllok 2003 on the PC, the synchronizing procese seems to start but again nothing is copied.
I allready reinstalled AS 2 times, turned off the virusscanner and firewall and tries another PC but everytime with the same result.

Who knows what's happening?

Hi,

I installed AS 4.1 with JJ disconnected. Firewall is OFF. Can you clarify what is MSFT (MicroSoft F.. T..). I have been down with a viral for the past few days and haven't been able to reinstall AS 4.1. But now that I am a bit back to normal, I'll do so over the next 1 - 2 days and report back. I am also connecting directly to USB and not a USB Hub.

Regards,

Ninad.

This could possibly be something unrelated to the original thread, so it would be good to start a new one.

New Jasjar,
Well I too have had the problem trying to establish a partnership with my new Jasjar on my laptop.
Yet on the desktop was no trouble-which is a pain as I use the laptop more.
The two computers are connected in a network. I assume this is the problem.
I even took the network cable off and disabled firewall.
Still no luck.
Getting rather frustrated-but I like the Jasjar-seems to have limited software compatable with WM5 at moment

Checked all network connections and DHCP is enabled on all connected computers. We have no firewalls running and have installed Active Sync correctly. Our PPC Jornada 540 and XDA connectes no problem on both laptop and PC so would appear to be only a problem with Jasjar and Active Sync 4.1.

There does not seem to be a problem with the Jasjar and the Desk top (which runs Windows XP Professsional). OS on laptop is Windows XP Home.

Network connections window shows connection with Jasjar as 'connected' and Windows mobile device.
