That's why I said I thought it was sarcasm 😉

Reason I described it as that is that I did search but couldn't find anything stating that was the French government's response - but thank you for posting that link (I don't use Twitter so wouldn't have normally seen it) 🙂

The judge also pointed to Musk’s many posts on X bragging about how DOGE shut down USAID, ruling that Musk and the two officials “likely have personal, first-hand knowledge of the facts relevant and essential to the resolution of this case.”

Finally. It looks like the world's biggest loser might just - for once - be held accountable for something he did.

Mars Moon mission 😁

The only "Moon" investors will see is when musk show his butt to them as he runs off with the money.

The same issues with Mars apply to the moon...Radiation, gravity and accessibility in an emergency.
How long did astronauts have to wait in the space station for a rescue ?, and they were only about 100 miles up

In space rescue is very much an exception, you rescue yourself or that's it

Elon needs Starship to launch those larger Starlink Sv's he always needed at speed.
Other projects are just to get Government money to pay for this plus profit.

Its why Bezos instantly bent the knee, they all know space and space profits are subsidized by Government.
Billionaires don't become Trillionaires paying for this themselves.

Elon in race to stake out LEO.
China will absolutely not accept second place to Elon.
No nine dash lines in space its all up for grabs.
They have two companies that have put up 30-50 so far, and as China does they will move fast.

EU now sees they can't rely on USA, and bamboo curtain may be too much, so they will be at it too.

Once everyone's done maybe no one is going to Moon, Mars, Space stations or anywhere else without high risk.

A science experiment on what happens when upper atmosphere is full of all sorts of heavy metals and chemical compounds starts.
The constant rain of Svs burning up with constant launches to replace them.

Why go to Mars when you can create Mars on Earth. Mars come to You :-)

Elon Musk posted about race almost every day in January:

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/feb/12/elon-musk-posts-january-white-supremacists

"If you stripped Elon Musk’s name off of these things and showed them to me, I would think that this was a white supremacist,” said Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Extremism, who reviewed a selection of the posts."

I'm curious about the NASA moon mission.

Currently, the xSpace spacecraft still needs 20 technically challenging pre-refueling flights to the Lunar Gateway to later transport the 50-meter-high Elon-tower to the moon (and back again). (BTW: It's completely irrelevant that it never even reached Earth's orbit up to now.)

They actually planned an elevator on the outside(!) of the thing to lower the astronauts from Elon's big, heavy spacecraft to the lunar surface. This concept reminds me of reckless sailors who jump overboard without first securing the swim ladder.

The Americans don't do things by halves, they go all out. What a half-baked mess!

More jingoistic than practical, but $$$ for space companies

America got their first and repeatedly with technology at the time

China getting it done before Russia many decades later casts no shade on America.
Other things Americans do, does that on industrial scale.

There really is no long-term solution for people in space anyways.
We do not do well in low gravity, the more we look, the more bad effects we find.
For extra topping you have radiation, solar flares and deep space high energy particles.
So its down to short visits.

Robots, in shapes optimised for the job have done sterling work and that seems to be the path.
A helicopter bot has literally flown on Mars, and much for much longer than expected !

Timing would seem to be more to give the SpaceX Xai Twitter share market debut a boost.
Ai generated space porn the next market.
USA spending super bigly on the moon.

And we are meant to believe ( From the provided images) that lunar travel is now so cheap and resources so abundant that we can just have double height voids of pressurised cabin space, wide corridors and access ladder tubes, that we spend fuel to carry  to the moon and back... because.... it looks cool???

There was a reason the cabin space in Apollo was small... small spaces require small walls, big spaces need big walls, every sq inch of wall you require,  is something you need to carry all the way to the moon  and back... hopefully)
