This is another deplorable. These people are trying to enact a war on woke, when in fact they want to be able to show their prejudices in plain sight.

Being woke in this context would know and understand why even thinking of this joke would be wrong.

Auckland mayor Wayne Brown refers to RNZ staffer as 'a Muslim terrorist'

RNZ said the man was greeting Brown as he arrived at RNZ's Auckland offices for an appearance on the Afternoons programme on Monday.

The staff member apologised to Brown for the wait, mentioning security being tight in the building, an RNZ spokesperson said in a statement.

"The Mayor responded with a comment along the lines of 'security can't be very tight if we're being escorted by a Muslim terrorist'," the RNZ spokesperson said.

"The Mayor also made a comment about the employee's looks and said something like 'gosh look at your beard'."

If that wasn't enough:

"On a personal note, I have a great deal of respect for the Sikh community in Auckland, and I am sorry that my comment fell short of that."

The man is not Sikh. The Mayor was mistakenly told by his staff that the man was Sikh.

Patel is suing The Atlantic for $250 million after it reported that he has been intoxicated at private clubs in Washington and Las Vegas, and that his drinking has become “a recurring source of concern across the government.”

The man who was arrested for drinking too much in public would like you to know he has never drunk too much in private.

Among the deplorables I'm seeing an increase of near medieval nonsense level antisemitic type content. For example, claims jews are waiting for a christian antichrist, crap criticising particular denominations while showing pictures of completely unrelated denominations, completely failing to note differences of opinion even within denominations, people entering areas with large religious communities and more or less engaging in harassment like the guy Trump and Vance linked to that did something similar with Somali ethnic communities, the list goes on. This is exactly the same type of nonsense that the same and similar characters did to Islam and Moslems. That is not a good situation and we all know where that goes.

I watch a fair bit of YouTube content about the dire human rights situation in Israel/Palestine. Probably 50% or more or that content features Jewish and Palestinian speakers and/or Israeli origin speakers who oppose the Israeli government on the various issues and policies. Obviously those people are a minority in Israel with Netanyahu unambiguously signalling his support for the radical settler Greater Israel concept and giving Smotrich sole charge of the West Bank rules of life. It is not antisemitic in content or intent.

The YouTube algorithm frequently links to more or less antisemitic content that it thinks might be similar. It seems it was all kicked off by right characters like Carlson and Owens changing their orientation towards Israel. Those characters and similar are coming up with all kinds of wacky nonsense at the same time. Unfortunately, the wacky stuff is catching no doubt as intended.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, including domestic. He also took an oath to faithfully discharge the duties of office without mental reservation or purpose of evasion, meaning without trying to find loopholes to serve a different master.

Because Blanche served as Trump’s personal criminal lawyer prior to assuming the AG role, he explicitly swore during his Senate confirmation hearing that he would recuse himself from any case relating to Trump personally, if advised to do so by government ethics lawyers.

Blanche was, in fact, advised to recuse by government ethics lawyers, who presented Blanche a PowerPoint presentation on DOJ ethics that explicitly detailed his recusal requirement.

Blanche did not recuse. Instead he fired the lawyer who so advised him, and continued representing the DOJ in Trump’s personal lawsuit seeking a preposterous $10 billion from the IRS.

Trump filed the suit in his personal capacity, after a contracted IRS employee embarrassed him by revealing that Trump paid only $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017, and paid zero in federal income taxes for ten years before that.

Instead of following legal advice to recuse from the case, Blanche shot the messenger, “settled” a non-existent case, and orchestrated a $1.8 billion heist.

Blanche helped his client steal from taxpayers.

Totally corrupt. 🤥

Andy Foster is a proud Wellington man. Before entering parliament on the NZ First party list in 2023, he served 10 terms on the Wellington City Council, including one as mayor of Wellington.

NZ First’s website describes him as a “List MP based in Wellington”, while on Facebook he identifies as a “NZ First List MP based in the Wairarapa and Wellington”. He is a longtime resident of Karori; he owns a four-bedroom house in the suburb valued at about $1.1 million. Property records show it was last sold in February 2000 for $323,000.

Despite owning a home in Wellington for 26 years, Foster is claiming a $36,400 per year taxpayer-funded accommodation subsidy intended for non-Wellington MPs. Foster’s parliamentary expense reports show he claimed $22,700 in 2025, starting with $3,100 in the April-to-June quarter, followed by the maximum possible amount of $9,800 in every quarter since. He confirmed to The Spinoff that he continues to claim the allowance.

"Jews are waiting for a Christian antichrist" is a textbook antisemitic trope.

It falsely claims Jews are aligned with an evil figure, and are secretly plotting the downfall of Christianity.

Christian eschatology does assign roles to Jews at the Second coming, including the red heifer ritual, and the Third Temple, and Jews directly confronted by Jesus.

But importantly these are Christian beliefs about Jews.

(I'm intentionally leaving out return of Jews to Israel / Zionism because it's complex)

They do realize Jesus was around 5'2" / 157 cm with Jew of Middle Eastern birth. He was not of northern European appearance, and I don't remember seeing Jesus being albino in the Bible.

And the term “antichrist” was first written into the Bible about 65 years after Jesus’s death, and only by John four times.

"Antichrist" is a Christian theological concept, not Jewish.
