But doesn't his term expire in January 2021, regardless of whether he wins or not? And if he doesn't, he can't just say, "oh, I'm just going to stay here because I'm a sore loser"? He has to leave. Don't care what he does afterwards, but - as I understand - the Constitution says his term expires 4 years to the day or something. I'm sure I read it on CNN a while ago. He's got until the election to keep screwing things up, then another two months of serious chaos-creation to undermine the election results and try and derail a handover. So the US has at least six more months of Covid19 chaos to go, combined with possibly severe civil unrest after November. Question is, can the US take a minimum of six more months of this without something giving way?

There's two conflicting voices in Trump's head, a litttle spoiled 9 year old brat, and a TV reality star

Little boy voice: "No fair, no fair. They want me to leave, then I'm going to stay! That'll show them."

TV reality star: "I think I'll take up an offer from one of the reality TV show producers. Pure gold ratings!"

Ah, have to pull you up on the '9 year old' estimate. The niece (or 3rd cousin!!) gives his development age as three. I think this is much closer to the truth.

Numerous photos and videos posted on Twitter show the unidentified woman as she halted in the middle of the street at about 1:45 a.m. She stood calmly, a surreal image of human vulnerability in the face of an overpowering force that has been *criticized nationally by civil rights advocates.

 

The agents, in gas masks and helmets, continued firing pepper balls in a staccato “pop, pop, pop” heard on video, aiming low at the asphalt, where puffs of smoke mingled with clouds of gas. At one point, a fellow protester, clothed, carrying a homemade shield, darted in front of the woman, angling to protect her.

 

 

* A main criticism is that Trump has sent in "goon squads" of camouflaged paramilitary operatives who don't show any visible personal or organisation ID, who have been forcefully grabbing protesters off the street.

How is it not suitable, Fred? It is just a picture of a nude woman. A very courageous one, I would add. There is nothing erotic or provocative or distasteful about it at all. Anyone upset by this has got other problems. This picture ought to be plastered over every front page and billboard in America. As far as I am concerned, it is morally equivalent to Tank Man.

I agree fully - but I'm not going to post an image that some may consider to be "NSFW" as an embedded image.
News sites posting one of the photos in particular are cropping the shot.  Here it is in full.  It is in my opinion one of the most remarkable examples of  photojournalism of all time.

And it worked - the cops (from some reports including Trump's unidentifiable goon-squad troops) backed off, got in their cars and went away.

 

"Normal" peaceful protest isn't really working any more, it's either not "newsworthy" enough, and anyway there's plenty of examples now of American authoritarians deliberately harming protesters who do not threaten them - it seems as if the new right in America don't care, and that fascism is winning.

That video is definitely worth a watch. The guy's summary of the next few months is, IMHO, accurate and events will very likely to go down the depicted track.

 

The thing I'm mulling over now is, after the election unseats Trump (a certainty, I'd say), which way the military will move if Trump refuses to vacate the post.

It was also one of the bravest things I've ever seen anyone do. If that woman was in the military she'd be nominated for the VC.
