They don't describe him as "the Trump of the tropics" for nothing, you know.

neb: Trump goes to the circus, and is photographed with circus clowns.

The press secretary is trying to figure out what caption to use, "Donald Trump among clowns", "Donald Trump and clowns", and "Clowns surround Donald Trump", but they all seem a bit politically suspect.

Eventually after long consideration the picture is published: "Third from left, Donald Trump".   (Variant of an old Khruschev joke).

Donald Trump Communes With the Dead

"He's probably looking down, or looking up."

President Trump seems to bring up the dead quite often.

President Trump seems to bring up the dead quite often.

He will take votes wherever he can get them.

nathan: Hilary Clinton symbolized a Washington insider, she ran on that experience as a Washington Insider, at a time when a lot of the voting public saw that as a negative. Simple as that.

Voters act on what affects them personally, not what they think might be wrong, or misguided or offensive. People vote on what affects them, not what offends them.

Trump's voters are so stupid that I can't believe this argument. They are not intelligent enough to understand "Washington insider". I still believe (and there's nothing, except a nationwide poll, that could give any evidence to the contrary) that Trump was voted in because bigots, racists and misogynists couldn't even imagine having a woman President after having an african-american President.

that's just not the reality - voters aren't stupid, and sex didn't decide 2016.  40% will vote red - no matter who, 40% will vote blue - no matter who

an stupid vote against a "swamp creature", is worth just as much as an intelligent vote against a "Washington insider"

Trump just ran a superb campaign in 2016 - hitting all the right issues - hitting Hilary on corruption, on being part of the establishment, on the status-quo, hitting on the trade deals and TPP, hitting on the wars - he just had a stronger argument in 2016.

Identity politics won't be a deciding issue in 2020, just like it wasn't in 2016 - if it was Biden wouldn't be naming a colored female VP, when he hasn't committed to a 2nd term and is an implied 1 term president

IMHO, those people are stupid. Vote for a person who will work for you, vote for policies that address the issues of the day. Voting for a team colour is stupid.

This year, I'm voting Green because they are the only party currently offering a vision of a long term sustainable future. Not just for the environment, but for society. Labour have handled multiple crises well, but they have no intention of changing anything substantial. Act don't currently have any policies I care about (in fact, right now their policies are the opposite), and the less said about the train wreck that is National right now, the better.

But in the past I have voted for both National and Act, and could do so again in the future. In the past I wouldn't have touched the Green party with a 10 foot pole because it was run by a bunch of loonies.

I don't vote for my team. I vote for someone who actually wants to solve the problems.

"'Yo Semite' t-shirts are a big hit for one Jewish museum following President Trump's blunder"

Boosted by President Trump's blooper mispronouncing the name of Yosemite National Park, the National Museum of American Jewish History has seen sales for a t-shirt with the saying "Yo Semite" skyrocket.

During the signing of the Great American Outdoors Act on August 4, Trump pronounced Yosemite ("yo-sem-it-ee") as "yo semites" while extolling the beauty of the park's trees, and then repeated it -- bungling the name even more -- for good measure a moment later.

The "Yo Semite" shirt has been for sale since 2011, and it has been a popular item at the museum's physical and online stores, according to Emily August, its director of communications and public engagement.

However, Trump's televised blooper brought a whole lot of new attention to the shirt.

Regarding the post with Donald abruptly leaving the press talk, from CNN:

President Trump abruptly departed the briefing room on Monday moments after starting his coronavirus briefing.

In the middle of a sentence, a Secret Service agent whispered something to the President before he departed the room.

"Sir, we’re just going to have to step outside," the agent can be heard saying.

"Excuse me?" Trump asked.

"Step outside," the agent said.

"Oh," Trump said before departing the room.

CNN reporters at the White House report the complex has been locked down.

Donald also returned saying:

"There was a shooting outside of the White House, seems to be very well under control," the President says moments after returning to the briefing room podium. "There was an actual shooting."

He went on to comment that his goons would continue to shoot protesters unless they were protesting something he approved of, like those fine people at Charlottesville.

TRUMP ACCUSES BIDEN OF DRAGGING OUT VICE PRESIDENTIAL SELECTION PROCESS INSTEAD OF PICKING FIRST CLOWN WHO SAYS YES

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump ridiculed Joe Biden on Monday for dragging out his search for a running mate.

“Sleepy Joe is wasting time with all his vetting,” Trump told reporters. “All he has to do is pick someone who’s totally desperate, and so hopeless, he couldn’t get a real job if he tried.”

“The more pathetic he is, the better,” he added. “He’ll spend the next four years sucking up to you like you wouldn’t believe. It’s a beautiful thing.”
