that's just not the reality - voters aren't stupid, and sex didn't decide 2016.  40% will vote red - no matter who, 40% will vote blue - no matter who

an stupid vote against a "swamp creature", is worth just as much as an intelligent vote against a "Washington insider"

Trump just ran a superb campaign in 2016 - hitting all the right issues - hitting Hilary on corruption, on being part of the establishment, on the status-quo, hitting on the trade deals and TPP, hitting on the wars - he just had a stronger argument in 2016.

Looks like we just have a closet Trump admirer here.

*yawn*

Arguments are based on facts and shouldn't just be judged in a consequentialist way. Just because lots of people used to believe that the earth was flat didn't make the belief true.

So what should the Americans do then, nathan? Just not vote at all, since (in your view) both candidates are equally as bad as each other?

If no one voted at all, what do you think would happen? As you probably know, they don't have a Governor General to sort things like that out.

Please feel free to put forward your own opinion on why Trump won, instead of just saying yawn and accusing me of being a Trump supporter.

I've not seen a single political commentator opine that Clinton lost because of her chromosomes.  I've argued that Hilary didn't lose because of her gender because enough Americans saw thru the lies from years of neoliberalism and the Obamas BS of "hope and change"

Your reply seems to be a great example of Trump Derangement syndrome.

If you think these aren't the facts, then what are? (hitting Hilary on corruption, on being part of the establishment, on the status-quo, hitting on the trade deals and TPP, hitting on the wars - he just had a stronger argument in 2016)

Serious question - what would you say Trump's strengths are this time around then (overlooking the fact he's the incumbent, for a moment)?

You've been consistently using words/phraseology that are basically just Trump talking points, so I'll just let the evidence speak for itself. The other issue is the notion that someone ran a superb campaign because they won. If you suffer from some kind of Anything Goes Syndrome, then I guess yeah Trump's campaign was "superb". But the quality of one's argument - as a matter of pure logic and ethics - simply can't be usefully judged by the mob's verdict.

I think Trump’s greatest strength might turn out to be doubt about whether Biden is still capable of doing the job of President.

Trump isn't really what I would call "capable", IMO.

Donald Trumpin won't be happy with his boss: "Russia unveils coronavirus vaccine, claiming victory in global race before final testing is complete"

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Tuesday that the country has become the first to approve a coronavirus vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Institute in Moscow, with production and tens of thousands of inoculations to follow.

Officials have pledged to vaccinate millions of people, including teachers and front line health-care workers, with the experimental coronavirus vaccine beginning this month, raising global alarm that the country is jumping dangerously ahead of critical, large scale testing that is essential to determine if it is safe and effective.

Russian officials have said that a second vaccine from the state research center in Siberia, Vector, is not far behind.

“Of course, what counts most is for us to be able to ensure the unconditional safety of the use of this vaccine and its efficiency in the future. I hope that this will be accomplished,” Putin said at a meeting with government members Tuesday, adding that his own daughter had been inoculated with the Gamaleya vaccine.

blaming Russia for causing the election to go to Trump, is almost as bad as an excuse as Hilary's sex

The Dems have been trying this attack line for 4 years, and the American voters don't believe it

This is just a way for them to blame someone else instead of being honest about Hilary

Now they've chosen Hilary 2.0 to try again

what evidence is speaking for itself?

The evidence is American voters are sick of endless wars that bleed this country dry, and they're sick of globalization - things Hilary was all in on, Obama/Biden had their chance with "Hope and Change" and didn't deliver

I'm assuming you've not actually talked to many American voters?

I'd say its still Trade, particular vs China where Biden is weak

and also the significant number of Republican Federal and Supreme court judges that have been appointed under his term

We should also play this game for Biden's strengths....

Russians also got there first with radio, television, cars, parachutes, steam engines, the synthesiser, blue jeans, ... forget about Marconi, Baird, da Vinci, Newcomen, and all the rest, all those things were really Russian inventions.

In other words I'm gonna wait till results are published in (non-Russian) medical journals before I buy this one:

The KGB, the FBI and the CIA are all trying to prove they are the best at catching criminals. The Secretary General of the UN decides to set them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest, and each of them has to catch it. The CIA people go in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations, they conclude that the rabbit does not exist. The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and make no apologies: the rabbit had it coming. The KGB goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!"

"Okay! Okay! We have a vaccine! We have a vaccine!"
