SaltyNZ:

nathan:

The point is, Russians spending a few tens of thousands of dollars on Facebook ads showing memes, didn’t actually change the outcome of the election.

Then why would they do it? For the lulz? On the contrary, the likes of Cambridge Analytica charge a huge fee for their services - because they work.

checkout most of the ads here

Since there is zero evidence a few Russian Facebook ads actually changed the electoral outcome, especially since most of their spend was post-election, on the balance of probabilities its seems safe to say it didn't.

Russia is the new bogeyman for election interference for the Dems, a regular topic on CNN/MSNBC for the last 4 years, over and over.  We can be sure if Biden loses, they'll be pushing this Russian interference excuse again.

There's nothing new about Russian interference or obscene amounts of money in US politics, but they're also xenophobia, sensationalism and unconfirmed intelligence.

If they actually cared about election interference, we would be discussing the actual ways how billionaires, from any nation, and the Elites affect US politics.  Curiously we don't hear anything about money in politics or extreme wealth inequality.

PS me criticizing the Dems, should not be construed as support Trump

pvjones: YouTube ‘Vice President Joe Biden Gets Emotional w/ Family Photos’ in this friendly ‘live interview’ with James Corden it clearly shows the reflection of the teleprompter on the glass of a big framed photo Biden holds up. It is at about 1:50. You can see a block of green text and below a block of white on blue text. For Biden to need a teleprompter is really very disturbing. I had problems posting a link but look it up using the full title. The video is about 3:30 in length.

That's why he's in his basement, you can't make gaffs from there, and he's rocking the polls by doing nothing except not be Trump.

You've got to ask yourself the question, why would MSNBC alter the photo of him calling/Zooming Kamala today.  His script is removed, and the upside down phone he's holding is blurred.

You must have amazing eyesight, I can't see the differences you outline between the two images (and I looked really closely too).

God people can interpret complete nonsense into a picture. If you look at the very much non-blurred phone you'll see he's on a call and is holding the phone's speaker to the laptop. As for the removed script, they have also removed the pink unicorn, the vaguely pornographic sculpture of the dwarf, and the 4-6-4 steam locomotive, because they're not visible in the picture either.

Edited to add: Can anyone identify which web site those photos and the accompanying crazy claims came from? Fox? OANN? Breitbart? That would show where @nathan gets his conspiracy theories from.

Edited a second time: First Google hit was this one, www.donaldjtrump.com.

right, the image is altered, but why?

it would be easier/simpler/cheaper/faster to broadcast the actual image, but someone decided to blur the upside-down phone (I actually don't care about that, I hold my phone upside down when on conf calls all the time) and not show the script he's reading.

As @quickymart has pointed out, there's no difference between the two images. Unless www.donaldjtrump.com has told you to think otherwise.

MSNBC is the Fox news of the Dems.  That cropping doesn't happen by accident.  Fox news did something similar for the recent Seattle riots.  Cable news is still such a powerful propaganda tool here, especially to older people, who have high voter turnout.

Try to get over criticism of the Dem establishment being support for Trump, because its not.  I criticize both sides equally.

I think she will do very well in that debate.  She had pathetic results in the Primary, dropping out at 3% and not even being able to win her own state, but debated very very well and got a large % of the airtime

She's only been in Congress since 2017, but has a fearsome reputation for asking hard precision questions in Congressional hearings.  Prosecutor background is good for some things.

Pence will need Mothers permission, since he is not allowed in the same room as a women alone

speaking of the use of notes, imagine being a President having to write down "no quid pro quo" so you remembered it

or being Trumps press secretary consulting her notes, with a binder of topics ranging from "ABSURD" to "WINS."

Sure politicians use notes, but Biden and his minders are trying to con the US electorate with his scripted question and answer ‘interviews’. It’s a pretty simple process. The TV channel sends the questions to the Biden team a day or two before the interview. Imagine Biden trying to do a live interview with Radio NZ, it would be a train wreck!

And you think the same TV channels don't send the answers to Trump's team?

Biden is so old (77) that his choice of running mate becomes very important - that person might well have to step up.

Trump is only 74 but his diet isn't/hasn't been great. OTOH I remember hearing he is the healthiest president, ever - bar none , so I'm sure he'll be around a while.

Fake News. Nothing to see here. Move on.
