Fred99: Any other POTUS would have been impeached for that tweet, and convicted by a senate - except they're terrified by the possibility that if Trump loses, then when this dystopian nightmare is over - a lot of them could get locked up.

The Washington Post - Kellyanne Conway to leave the White House at the end of the month, citing the need to focus on her family
August 24, 2020
Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to President Trump and one of his longest-serving aides, is leaving the White House at the end of the month.
Conway, whose title is counselor to the president, was Trump’s third campaign manager in 2016 and the first woman to successfully manage a presidential bid to victory.
She joined the White House at the start of Trump’s term and has been one of his most visible and vocal defenders. ...
Her husband, George T. Conway III, a conservative lawyer and outspoken critic of the president, is also stepping back from his role on the Lincoln Project, an outside group of Republicans devoted to defeating Trump in November. ...
George Conway has written, among other things, that Trump is not mentally fit to be president. ...

Meh, I expect they're both a lot more cynical about it than their public personae would suggest - it's all just part of the job. To be fair, you'd have to be very cynical to work for Trump without actually supporting him, but they both get a lot more publicity out of it than if they were quietly beavering away at something less outwardly contentious. Like, she probably comes home from a Trump rally and says 'You'll never guess what the f***wit said today!'
And it's not like publicly degrading oneself to make a dollar is some sort of unprecedented 21st Century affliction.

Joe Biden, October 2019: "We are not prepared for a pandemic. Trump has rolled back progress President Obama and I made to strengthen global health security. We need leadership that builds public trust, focuses on real threats, and mobilizes the world to stop outbreaks before they reach our shores."

About 80% of that (as I read it) was Trump basically congratulating himself for doing what he did. Narcissistic much?

Their 15YO daughter has been a fierce critic of Trump on Tik-Tok - expressing fury that her mother was going to speak at the RNC, and threatening "emancipation" (legal process to remove parent's guardianship).
Kind of a trivial bit of tabloid gossip, but it wouldn't have gone down very well at home - and the anti-Trump sentiment wouldn't be appreciated in the WH one little bit.
"it's all about money and fame, ladies and gentlemen" - she (the daughter says) - to an audience of a few hundred thousand kids on TikTok.

Variety - film review - "#Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump"
Dan Partland - Director & Producer
The film opens in virtual, and select in-person theaters beginning on August 28.
Review - Aug 21, 2020:
A Documentary Dissects the President’s Malignant Narcissism
The film details the four qualities in Trump that define that syndrome: his paranoia (the feeling that any journalist who asks him a challenging question, or any staff member who doesn’t kiss his ring, is out to get him); his anti-social personality disorder (the constant lying, the lack of remorse about even the most destructive things he does); the sadism (the thousands of vicious attacks and insults in his tweets); and…well, the narcissism (do I need to detail that?).
In addition, the film analyzes his propensity to create and live in his own reality.
It explores his absence of empathy - which, of course, is the defining quality of the sociopath. (They’re not insane; they just don’t care about you - or anyone else.)
And it compares him to Hitler and Mussolini, and to the authoritarian leaders of our own time. ...

Does anybody know how much governing power the President and his Adminstration has between the result of the election and Inauguration Day?
Someone as petty and vindictive as Chump could create havoc in the intervening period if he still has power to do so.
I think things still carry on as normal, but he has to do a handover. I believe Obama put some legislation in place that required an outgoing government to create a handover thingo.
