One Ukrainian woman's thoughts on Putin. Worth reading the comments below the video.

‘The army has nothing’: new Russian conscripts bemoan lack of supplies

“They gave us absolutely no equipment. The army has nothing, we had to buy all our gear ourselves,” complained Vladimir, 23, who was conscripted as part of Vladimir Putin’s mobilisation earlier this month.

“I even had to paint my gun to cover the rust. It is a nightmare ... Soon they’ll make us buy our own grenades,” he added in the call that Shishkanova recorded and uploaded on her page on the Russian social media site VK.

A relatively young political scientist and author. He thinks the Ukraine war could last a long time.

His delivery makes Liz Truss sound animated and eloquent in comparison. After a few minutes of that robotic monotone I had to stop.

Young Political Scientist?
Looking back his videos mostly game theory before the war.
Perhaps an approach missing the life lessons, human factors and nuances.

Applying rules and logic to dictators is a difficult business.
Putin in a corner of 11 to 12 time zones.
Putin threatened in a place where only news is propaganda, he writes his own reality.

There is that bit in I Claudius where a Roman Emperor comes back in in triumph with tribute of seashells after a great victory against Neptune.
I think the gist of it was a failed invasion of Britain?
Everyone cheers war is over, victory declared, it's time to party.

Does not seem to account for further mobilizations being ever less capable, with more medical issues including infectious diseases, less motivated and equipped.

How dictators go is also very unpredictable, you are not around very long if you signal you are a potential competitor.
Its why Russia's succession of leadership is a bit of a puzzle.
Argentinian Generals were firmly in charge until they weren't.

It's pretty much Ukraine up against a wall, in a corner, fight Russia until Putin accepts Russia is incapable, or its off to a filtration camp and gulag. Given from outset the rampant random killing, torture, bombing shelters refugee and food lines, filtration of the population

This guy tends to make fairly long videos. He's definitely a capitalist, and tends to meander.

But if you're patient, his videos all have the common themes
  1. Putin has ruined their economy for many years to come
  2. Russian economist are either completely ignored by Putin, or are idiots, or unwilling to give Putin honest advice

Russian "Mir payment system" abandoned by foreign countries due to fear of sanctions from the west

Will there be a "Dirty Bomb" let off, most likely.

It will be Russia who will use it on their own people, some small meaningless village of no strategic importance .

They will use this "false flag" operation to use Nukes against the Ukraine.

We have seen the wind up to this with Russian claim in the media and now at the UN.

Russia is already conscripting prisoners and throwing them on the front line. If effect emptying their prisons, saving money they desperately need, and suppling cannon fodder. They are converting prison sentences to death sentences.

The ONLY way this war will not escalate is if the Russian people remove Putin.

Unfortunately I think the only people in a position to remove Putin are likely to be much worse. It's not the same situation as the fall of the Soviet Union where a man who, flawed though he was genuinely cared for his country and his people, and the world, and the next in line to replace him was at least mostly in line with that too. Gorbachev gave the (ex)-Soviet Union a chance. Problem being of course that Yeltsin was weak, which allowed Putin the opportunity to slide in.

Ukraine shows the importance of having good neighbours.

History playing the same theme.

A Medieval Friar's Astonishing Mission to Mongolia.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ge6eLofP4Y

Putin's Russia seems to echo Güyük Khan's Golden Horde in 1246.
Submit totally, be a resource for further conquest and pay tribute, lots of tribute.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letter_from_G%C3%BCy%C3%BCk_Khan_to_Pope_Innocent_IV

""
"You must say with a sincere heart: "We will be your subjects; we will give you our strength". You must in person come with your kings, all together, without exception, to render us service and pay us homage. Only then will we acknowledge your submission. And if you do not follow the order of God, and go against our orders, we will know you as our enemy."
""

Apparently, it's the origin of the Russian two headed eagle?

Ok if you have to call yourself 'Innocent' there is something going on like Google 'Don't be Evil' :-)

History does not repeat, this time the tribute consists of Washing Machines, Toilets, Tapware, Flat Screen TV's, the odd CRT as well as anything otherwise not nailed down.
These radiological samples are so shiny I must have them.

Very interesting video. Apparently what the Russian soldiers are being given to read before going off to fight in Ukraine.

My feeling is that this situation won't be a like minded idiot looking to topple Putin. The country is falling apart economically. And before a shot was fired in this war, it was already falling apart, as instead of building Russia, the oil and gas funds went to the war chest, hence Russia is actually a small-ish economy. Perhaps the people will tire of the wealth being distributed to the top 0.0000001% of the population. Perhaps, as ridicule and embarassment grows, some top military may chat to like minded politicians, assuming there are some that genuinely want Russia to be  great again. Although, I'm not sure how much protest is going on there now by the citizens.

Noteworthy

Ukrainian forces attacked Russia's hold on the southern city of Kherson on Thursday (local time) while fighting intensified in the country's east. The battles came amid reports that Moscow-appointed authorities in Kherson have abandoned the city, joining tens of thousands of residents who fled to other Russia-held areas.

Ukrainian forces were surrounding Kherson from the west and attacking Russia’s foothold on the west bank of the Dnieper River, which divides the region and the country.

As the battles unfolded, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow has no intention to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

“We see no need for that,” Putin said at a conference of international foreign policy experts. “There is no point in that, neither political nor military.”

But, out pops the surprise that Ukraine used a naughty weapons (supplied and used by Russia against its own people) and so with extreme reluctance Russia has had to use Nukes.

There are 2 alternatives

Putin knows he will also be a casualty if Nukes are used

or

He has realised that the threats of their use backfired, the west did not back down, and sanctions/war losses are making things worse.
