Labour has twice the votes of the next-highest-polling party. To a rough approximation, Biden has the same number of votes as the next-highest-polling party. There's a huge difference.

Id tend to ignore the party name. Liberal, Left, Progressive, call it what you like, their lead is narrow compared to the Right, Conservative. The Govt got 64 of the 120 (although that has just widened a little)

Anyone who can successfully predict Trump's action even one hour in the future would have super-natural abilities.

Why would he concede until every single avenue to contest the result is gone?

that's right. which to me (*last avenue) = Supreme Court. he's been planning this since day 1.

*though it would need to be multiple lawsuits in multiple states to get enough for 270. 2 or 3 states may or may not be enough

Biden's majority is now in the thousands in the key states and has gone way past the point where a recount would make any significant difference. PA 13k , Arizona 41k, Nevada 20k for Biden. Only Georgia is under 2k and even that number is too high for a recount to change it by much.

It will be interesting to see what happens within the Democrat Party after the election and whether Ocasio Cortez and the Progressives faction will be reined in by the Biden/Pelosi centrists who believe a lot of voters went over to GOP and the blue landslide didn’t happen because of them. Four years comes around fast.

Its a given, and a right to explore all avenues. If and when they fail, he still won't concede, thats the point.

Eva888: Winning this election with a narrow majority is a shallow victory for whoever comes first when you still have half the population unhappy with the result and your mandate is weak.
Jacinda Arderns labour party has 50.1% of the vote but has a mandate. Biden currently has 50.5%.

Obama won in a "landslide" in 2008 with 52.9%

Mandates are about narrative not numbers.

Close to 67% turnout in 2020. Best turnout in 100 years apparently. I'd like to think that's good for democracy. Also during this term a few American journalists have learned to ask hard questions. I'd like to think it will continue into Biden's presidency and percolate through the American political system. In reality it's unlikely. The American political system has a very weak tradition of democratic debate in any sphere except protest and academia.

Presidential election is voting for the king in charge of spending all the money and holding regular banquets.

Pleased to see Georgia and especially Pennsylvania now showing a Biden lead this morning. If he gets Pennsylvania it’s pretty much game over.

Trump’s last couple of speeches he just sounds tired. I don’t think he even wants to be president anymore (if he ever did) but he refuses to be seen as a loser so will battle on until all avenues are exhausted. Even then there’ll be no concession - he’ll go to his grave insisting the election was rigged. Hopefully by then no one will be listening any more.

Yes, isn't it just his podcast promotion channel closed though?
