Former vice president Joe Biden is projected to win Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes, according to Edison Research, putting him over the 270 needed to win the presidency.

 

The call came about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, after a report of more counted votes from Pennsylvania.

 

With the victory, Sen. Kamala D. Harris of California is set to become the highest-ranking woman in the nation’s 244-year existence.

 

The latest on vote counting in the states still in play …

 

    Georgia: Biden is up in the count by 4,430 votes. Counties have finished counting early and absentee ballots and are focused on provisional ballots. The narrow margin is expected to trigger a recount.

 

    Nevada: Biden is leading in the count by 22,657 votes. More vote counts are expected at noon Eastern time. State officials have said they will now release results twice a day.

 

    Arizona: Biden leads the count by about 20,500 votes after a large batch of votes was reported at 11 a.m. Eastern.

The Washington Post - Trump insists ‘election is far from over,’ vows to press forward with court fights

Trump insisted Saturday that “this election is far from over” shortly after multiple outlets projected Biden to be the winner of the presidency.

 

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: They don’t want the truth to be exposed,” Trump said in a statement issued by his campaign in which he repeated several unfounded claims about widespread fraud having occurred in states where Biden is leading, including Pennsylvania.

 

“The simple fact is this election is far from over,” Trump said. “Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.”

 

Trump said that starting Monday, his campaign would “start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated.”

 

“I will not rest until the American people have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands,” Trump said.
