Trump's apparently going to come out of his bunker (the WH - or golf course) to hold a press conference about "Operation Warp Speed".

My guess is this is possibly going to be a train wreck of lies and conspiracy theory about how Pfizer colluded with "the radical left" to try to steal the election, which he claims he's won anyway. Possibly he'll say he's going to approve the vaccine for use by executive order - overriding FDA, Pfizer really has no ethical choice but to reject that, Trump will use it to "prove" how Pfizer are politically biased against him. Then he'll claim ownership of the vaccine because of "Operation Warp Speed" despite the fact that Pfizer didn't take funding for development, just the standard guarantee that if approved, they'd commit to buying (ie same as NZ's commitment to buy approved vaccines - which is not the same as putting cash up front for R&D)

He's going to have to stay on script from a teleprompter and refuse to answer questions from the press.

First and only press conference so far, 10 days after losing the election, and all the doofus wants to talk about is covid, covid, covid.

No questions from the press - walk away. Well there was one question I heard as he shuffled back into the bunker - “When will you admit you lost the election SIR?”

160,000 cases per day, 7 day moving average death rate now >1,000/day and heading up, 250,000 dead, at months away from rollout of a vaccine.

Trump has good electoral support. Trump obviously wants the presidency back. Trump and his family gained a lot from the office - more than any other president ever imo. There are no other republican candidates on the horizon, and if one arises they must contend with Trump.

It's easily possible Trump will continue tweeting and ranting in an effort to retain support all the way to the next presidential election.

In a sense this is new territory for the recent USA to have an opposition active throughout a presidential term. Biden and the democrats will need to get things like healthcare and so on really moving or they will be facing the possibility of another marginal loss in 2024. I'm still a little amazed they won with so little to offer. They will need to work extremely hard with what they have.
