Ivanka and Jared asked by exclusive private school to respect Covid rules they have been publicly flouting. Instead, they withdrew their children.

Excellent timing!

As someone who comes from a long line of teachers, and is familiar with private school politics, I can assure you that the school will breath a sigh of relief.

The Trump brand is poison.   😕

If he was to get 70 million viewers though, I'd be stunned. Even Fox News doesn't get that much - not even 10% of that amount.

Remember that 70 million voted for him officially, but how many of those love him so voted him, and how many voted Republican as always so they had to vote for him?

I've been told people voted for Trump not because they like him but because his administration has been good for them.

The Washington Post - Trump’s attempts to challenge the election results suffer further setbacks

today    NO PAYWALL

President Trump’s faltering efforts to challenge the election results suffered twin blows Friday, as Republicans contended with multiple legal setbacks and as the final state projections in the White House race gave President-elect Joe Biden a resounding 306 electoral votes.

In court, Republicans on Friday faced losses in Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania, while another major law firm withdrew from its representation of the president.

Meanwhile, Edison Research projected that Biden won in Georgia, while Trump was victorious in North Carolina, the last states to be called in the race.

Together, the latest developments underscore what the president’s advisers have been privately acknowledging throughout the week: that heading off Biden’s victory is essentially impossible. ...

The president countered in a tweet Friday: “Rigged Election!” ...

EDIT   So, to clarify, Republican votes are secure and legitimate, but Democrat votes are not secure and are not legitimate?

"Hey Donny - what about scaling down from the White to your *Grandparent's house?* " But I fear the community of the Kallstadt village will not welcome you 'cause they are ashamed of you.

If you are lucky maybe at least your relatives *here* and *here* will accept you for a SHORT visit (they can't fight back). ;-)

Yes, if Republicans suit thats 100% fine

Here we vote for a party, so thats the overall party including the leader. There they vote for the leader only (officially) even though the vote is really for the party.

from herald about what's happened to the legal challenges

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/us-election-republicans-face-court-setbacks-trump-law-firm-steps-down/UV4GL2XO2LL4HEQVJQWDPK77DA/

As I understand it, a TL:DR is that lawyers representing Trump in these lawsuits can be disbarred for lying to the court, the state electoral commissions write the laws about counting votes etc, SCOTUS has affirmed that, there's still no evidence of fraud - just hearsay BS and that's from people paid to come forward, none of it substantiates claims of widespread fraud anyway, so if the lawyer wants to get past "go" then they'd need to lie to the court - which they have near zero chance of getting away with.  So they'd lose the case, lose their jobs, and probably be prosecuted for perjury.

To top it off, apparently Giuliani is in charge of the ~70 or so lawsuits.  It's a laughable debacle / sideshow.  After 20 Jan, Trump will be tweeting about how "the swamp" colluded against him. Well - so long as he doesn't get banned from Twitter or locked up.

I worry more about the throng of Trump's supporters - some of whom can become quite aggressive - making life harder for everyone who doesn't agree with them (or Trump).
