There really needs to be a mechanism for dragging him out of the White House early for dereliction of duty. Why should people have to put up with his deranged crap for two months?

It's been going on for nearly 4 years, what's another couple of months?

Tell a lie often enough and people start to believe it.
Don't joke about Bone Spurs, that argument was used successfully by DJT previously.

Agree.if nothing else, it will keep him away from politics. If GOP let him back in, rinse and repeat 2020
Fred99:
The only single-term ex-president who's been impeached, Citizen Trump will still be tweeting "I WON!" from the uncomfortable cold stainless steel toilet of a NY state prison. I hope so - it's very entertaining. Hopefully his full-on true Nazi friend Stephen Miller can smuggle an iPhone in for him. iPhone because patent for round corners, I'm not a sadist.
I thought he is going to pardon himself before leaving office (if he will leave office)

Brace yourself. I don't expect him to stop when he leaves the Whitehouse ; ).
Don't worry about Trump getting back in the WH in 2024. Worry about someone worse coming into power, now that he's set the precedent.

I know that this has become the source of much philosophical debate, but I'm not sure he will. Pardoning himself would mean admitting that he's wrong, which is almost, if not actually, impossible for narcissists. In theory you can extend this to a meta-analysis, "if I don't go through the motions of preemptively pardoning myself then the evil $whatever will try and pin things on me", but Trump isn't capable of thinking that far ahead.

The bar isn’t that high, so, how about some Deliverance Hillbilly from the Ozark’s.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
The crowd sang the national anthem, sporadically erupting in cheers for the president. The rally began at the Freedom Plaza on Saturday morning, and would culminate in a crowd of hundreds and thousands by late afternoon.
Everything but Leni Riefenstahl filming it.
Many supporters were fueled by a combination of mistrust of state ballot counts and the media, and a conviction that Trump had, in fact, won the presidency – it just wasn’t being reported. Stevan Roknic, who had come from Hobart, Indiana, said it was “mysterious” how Trump had been reported to have lost the election.
“Trump was winning, he had the election in a landslide,” Roknic said. “And then in the middle of the night they stopped doing the count, and mysteriously all these votes showed up for Joe Biden. I don’t buy it.”
This reality thing.. I'm just not buying it.
[A Latina] asked about the issue of child separation, one of the most controversial of Trump’s policies, and which predominantly affected Latin American migrants at the southern border, Juarez said she didn’t believe they were actually separated.
[Another marcher] a Muslim, he said Trump had condemned white supremacists and racism, and that Trump’s Muslim ban wasn’t a ban against Muslims, but happened to be concern countries with large Muslim populations
A variant of the (misattributed) Lenin quote about capitalists and rope seems apropos here.
(Had to use italics because of the quote limits... could this be modified to limit nested quotes but not sequential ones? I wanted to limit what I was quoting to short excerpts and not half the article).

That's true. I'd like to see him pardon himself. It'll end up in SCOTUS, which despite being stacked by Trump/McConnell hasn't been quite as forthcoming in expressing opinions as Doofus would have hoped in terms of overriding State electoral commissions. Then there's a gotcha - assuming a stacked SCOTUS would be so partisan as to support Barr's opinion that a President can't be prosecuted (except by Senate as part of impeachment), then would they really do it - affirm that a president is above the law and can pardon himself - while a Democrat was president?
