Trump says DHS cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs has been terminated

This is just mental. Trump spouts wild unfounded accusations, expert in charge says Trump's accusations are incorrect, Trump fires expert in charge for making "highly inaccurate" statements.

The last four years were bad, but it's even more frightening to think of the damage he can do in the next two months now that he has nothing to lose and believes he has been cheated and betrayed.

I still think 20 jan is not a done deal. GSA hasn't declared Biden winner. If he fires and hires enough people he could get 4 more years?

No amount of hiring or firing will help. He has legal avenues which have yet to be dismissed but those look exceptionally unlikely to be worth anything, and pretty much everything he has left would have to be successful to overturn the result, and even then numerically I don't think he can do it. This leaves convincing electoral college representatives to switch from Biden to him, but even if he could turn a couple, swinging 1/3 of them would be mind-bogglingly unlikely, and if it happened, I fully expect civil war. It's really in my view, the only thing that would cause it.

He will 99.9999% be likely gone on Jan 20, I expect him to leave mostly pretty quietly. His speech if he attends the inauguration will be self-promoting, and will probably make some people throw up a little in their mouths (expect an unparalleled amount of eye rolling from behind him), but after that Biden will take office.

Between now and then I expect him to do whatever is in his own self-interest, the interests of the Trump clan and Republicans in general in that order of priority.

Despite the headlines this morning, I don't expect him to start a war, nuclear or otherwise.

A standard trait for psychopathic personalities is "if I can't have her, nobody can". He can still cause an awful lot of damage if he decides to go down that route (but I think he's more a sociopath than a psychopath, so what we're seeing his him lashing out at anyone he deems disloyal rather than deliberate destruction).

Sign of hope? Michigan's largest county, where many Biden votes were concentrated, reversed course after Republican officials initially blocked certification of the result. This drew applause from Republican partisans, including the idiot in chief, who complimented the certification board on its decision just after massive voter blowback forced it to change its mind. The decision is now being loudly celebrated as a win for democracy.

GSA don't decide the election, the electoral college does. They don't do that until the states certify the result. It will progress as it is meant to. Trump will make lots of noise but it's out of his hands.

There is a process that will be followed and Biden will be president on the 20th of Jan.

If for no other reason than the following, I'd class Trump as a psychopath.

Sociopaths make up around 4% of the population, psychopaths 1%. Assuming the percentage holds true globally, that percentage translates to about 32,000 sociopaths worldwide, and 8,000 psychopaths.

I know the world's in a mess, but I think it'd be a damn site worse if there were 32,000 people as crazy as Trump.

BTW, many shrinks believe psychopathy is of genetic origin, with sociopathy due to childhood environmental issues. Trump's mental makeup may be a combination of both factors.

I have been saying disparaging things about Trump since before he was elected. I have no doubt he is all the things he has been accused of – cheat, liar, psychopath, narcissist, infantile, ignorant, fascist, what have you. But in spite of this I continued to think he was more or less capable of normal if limited thought processes, emotional responses and word-based communications. He wasn’t very good at any of these, and sometimes he lapsed into incoherence, but he could pass for a semi-normal if somewhat challenged human being if he had to.

I have finally had to abandon even that battered illusion. Trump is not even a little bit ‘normal’. He is not just immature and self-centred. He actually is a delusional self-obsessed infant. Americans actually did elect a sh¡t spewing duck as the leader of their nation. Trump has now abandoned holiday plans to travel to Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving as he usually would, and is barricading himself into the White House instead. I imagine he is stocking the bunker with KFC. He is afraid to go out because he has become convinced that the nefarious Democrats will slip in and change the locks. He is sacking people left and right in a tantrum of paranoid lashing out. He actually will have to be removed by force, kicking and screaming like the toddler he is. It is not an act. It is not a damaged personality. It is actually who he is. I really hope, though I do not expect, that Pence will step up and invoke the 25th. I don’t think the country can survive him until January. He is a dangerous madman.
