Well yeah I was but then I thought, after >1300 pages in this thread, there's going to be a lot of unemployed meme cartoonists.

Did Obama get 1300 pages in his thread?

Will no one think of the late night comedians?!!!

The Washington Post - GOP effort to invalidate more than 2.5 million votes in Pennsylvania dealt another setback

today

Republicans faced another procedural setback in a Pennsylvania lawsuit seeking to invalidate more than 2.5 million votes, as a temporary order blocking further certification of election results was stayed on appeal from state officials who had already formalized President-elect Joe Biden’s win the day before.

Legal experts said the case had little chance of success, much like the other last-ditch GOP election lawsuits pending in battleground states. ...

Republican plaintiffs are retroactively challenging the state’s mail-voting system, calling into question virtually every contest that took place there on Nov. 3 and asking for judges to take the unprecedented step of voiding election results across the state. ...

Many of the president’s advisers do not see the effort by Ellis and Giuliani going anywhere, and they believe Trump is only hurting his reputation and legacy by participating in it. ...

The Washington Post - Opinion - Trump’s pardon of Michael Flynn is a parting disgrace

today

In what we can only hope will be his last official degradation of his office, the president pardoned Michael Flynn, his former national security adviser, on Wednesday ...

Mr. Flynn freely pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators, a felony, about whether he discussed anti-Kremlin sanctions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right,” Mr. Flynn said then. “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

But then he took it all back.

Mr. Flynn switched lawyers, hiring Sidney Powell - yes, the same Sidney Powell who last week alleged a vast international communist plot to flip the 2020 presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden - and insisted that he was the victim of FBI manipulation. ...

So it remains in Mr. Trump’s America, at least for a couple more months: Guilty is innocent; lies are truth; traitors are patriots.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Problem is, I don't think Trump gives a stuff anymore, he's going to go all-out to try and make it seem like the election was stolen from him.

Can't say I'll miss his instability (or anything else about him, actually), and it will be nice to have a politician with a clue running the show for a change.

Nature: How Trump damaged science — and why it could take decades to recover

The US president’s actions have exacerbated the pandemic that has killed more than 200,000 people in the United States, rolled back environmental and public-health regulations and undermined science and scientific institutions. Some of the harm could be permanent.

...“This is not just ineptitude, it’s sabotage,” says Jeffrey Shaman, an epidemiologist at Columbia University in New York City, who has modelled the evolution of the pandemic and how earlier interventions might have saved lives in the United States. “He has sabotaged efforts to keep people safe.”

...Quantifying Trump’s responsibility for deaths and disease across the country is difficult, and other wealthy countries have struggled to contain the virus; the United Kingdom has experienced a similar number of deaths as the United States, after adjusting for population size.

But Shaman and others suggest that the majority of the lives lost in the United States could have been saved had the country stepped up to the challenge earlier. Many experts blame Trump for the country’s failure to contain the outbrea...

...All the while, the president has peddled chaos and fear rather than facts, as he advances his political agenda and discredits opponents. In dozens of interviews carried out by Nature, researchers have highlighted this point as particularly worrisome because it devalues public trust in the importance of truth and evidence, which underpin science as well as democracy.

PUTIN WARNS THAT U.S. WILL BE CONTROLLED BY AMERICANS

MOSCOW (The Borowitz Report)—Asserting that his “darkest fears have been confirmed,” Vladimir Putin warned that the United States is on the verge of being controlled by Americans.

Speaking to reporters at the Kremlin, the Russian President alleged that President-elect Joe Biden was “the handpicked instrument of those who would seek to advance American interests.”

“Joe Biden is nothing less than a puppet of the American people,” he charged.

“His Cabinet appointments have left little doubt that, after four years of progress, the United States has fallen into American hands,” he said. “Joe Biden is keenly aware that Americans put him in power, and he will do their bidding.”

Russia experts said that Putin’s remarks were as close to a concession speech as he is likely to make.

The New York Times - ‘Loser’: How a Lifelong Fear Bookended Trump’s Presidency

today

Loser.

The first thing he calls someone who has wronged him is a loser,” said Jack O’Donnell, who ran an Atlantic City casino for Mr. Trump in the 1980s.

That’s his main attack word. The worst thing in his world would be to be a loser. To avoid being called a loser, he will do or say anything.” ...

But his famous aversion to the label of loser has now reached its apotheosis.

Since Joseph R. Biden Jr. was declared the winner of the Nov. 3 election - and Mr. Trump therefore declared the loser - the president has repeatedly trafficked in baseless allegations of a fraudulent and corrupt electoral process.

What was once considered the quirky trait of a self-involved New York developer has become an international embarrassment, nearly upending the sacred transition of power and leaving the world’s foremost democracy - grappling with a deadly pandemic and a teetering economy - with a leader who refuses to concede despite the basic math. ...

It depends on whether it really was the MAGA-hatters or people trolling them. If it is then it's possibly the second-best MAGA-hatter troll ever after this one:
