Similar to that boomers, once born, plotted their devious plans to be rich, and to scuttle future generations? Its consistent seeing them classed as selfish and evil. That's also worth a hefty roll
Poor, hard-done by boomers. Truly they are the real victims here.
It wouldn't surprise me if Russian trolls are fuelling the "OK Boomer" movement.
It's just another excuse for stereotyping and consequent bigotry that has potential to distract, divide, and weaken western democratic society.

Thats hardly a constructive comment.

What Fred says
You do realise that young people have put up with near constant criticism for being 'snowflakes' or 'entitled' or 'lazy' or whatever, usually by out-of-touch boomers, who lap up articles about how 'MILLENIALS ARE KILLING THE XYZ INDUSTRY' and flood social discourse about how the reason young people can't afford homes is because they have iPhones, not because houses are literally three times more expensive than they were 30 years ago.
Funny how it's a suddenly divisive and dangerous sentiment when heat going the other way actually gets some traction. That's why this whole 'OK Boomer' thing took off. People are sick and tired of getting unsolicited, outdated and irrelevant advice from people who actually didn't have to work nearly as hard as they tell everyone else they did.

Im aware that young people can be criticised as I want it and I want it now, and the various other criticisms. Im also aware of boomers that apparently don't believe in climate change, don't know anything about anything, and are riding the wave of easy money that they apparently created. I know a couple of boomers, both broke. Circumstances and poor management. However they have managed to each buy a house, one 3 weeks ago, the other a few months back, thanks to Kiwisaver. I know a Millenial that saved every cent he could, went nowhere, did nothing, and his new build had the roof on as of two weeks ago.
Each of those two generations had challenges and positives. Many made the most they could, and still can do. But NONE of them entered this world as evil and lazy and ripe to rip everyone off. They were just humans. Some boomers worked hard ,and matters allowed to them to do well over a working life. Some are still paycheck to paycheck. Millenials have differing challenges, and they are proving to get that house if they really want to. The ones that want it all and want it now, wont succeed, just as many boomers didnt.
"from people who actually didn't have to work nearly as hard as they tell everyone else they did" You say that as if its factual. Do you think boomers saved for 8 minutes to buy a house, then the following year were checking out Porsches?? Most boomers have had a working life to accumulate. Youngers ones haven't, but Id like to see a list of net assets of both at say age 20. Lets start with the $2500 iPhone and Macbook just to kick the list off.
What is most important and most disturbing is that in the last month we have seen racism and ageism coming from this Coalition and the leadership has taken no action.

Racism? Do you mean Labour's or Simons taped comment re Indians?
Ageism, yes, poor Chloe. For a politician she needs to get a grip or get out. The odd thing is that in the speech, no one cared. No one. If the media didnt pick it up, and viralise it, we would not even know. Aside form that, its just divisive, however that's not owned by any one party, thats New Zealand right now
At least this will never happen . https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12284163 Unreal.

I'd like to see how far income went for each person, and how much they had after paying rent, filling a tank and paying for food.
I'd like to see a percentage breakdown of the number of people who got paid overtime vs. those who didn't.
I'd like to see a breakdown of time spent commuting to and from work.
Let's start with the basics before we go jumping feet-first into stereotypes about iPhones.
Going back to the Boomer Millennials issue, there is no issue. Why are we blaming the other? Its a matter of circumstances. Go back to The Great Depression. Whose fault? Which generation? Thats not right. WW2, was created by one person, that caused hardships of unimaginable proportions. One persons doing not that generation. The post war boom, we cant give any credit to a person or a generations, its what happens in a post war boom. At any time there will be a good or not so good issue going on, we dont blame generations, so why do we do that now? Housing crisis, so we blame that that are old enough to be in Government, so we will banish that whole generation to be bad? Worse still, the ones doing the blaming and naming are down about 40 years of knowledge and learnings in life. But great to see a lawmaker finds it acceptable to blame it all on one set of individuals. As fare as climate change measures are concerned, blame the lawmakers, national and global.

I can say that working in social services during 80's through to the 2Ks folks through out lived week to week with next to nothing left after paying for accommodation etc. Studies I did show that is was the same in the 6os, 50s, 40s, 30s, 20s etc etc . It is not new. I good example I commuted to work I often took the train as I did not want to crawl the length of my trip in a car. Again, commuter congestion is not something new.

Fair call, but less of the same "Poor, hard-done by boomers. Truly they are the real victims here."

I was born after the baby boomer years but not a lot past, and I was part of the stereotyped boomer lifestyle, so i'll add to this later when home
