Six hours of paralysis: Inside Trump’s failure to act after a mob stormed the Capitol.

But as senators and House members trapped inside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday begged for instant assist throughout the siege, they struggled to get by way of to the president, who — safely ensconced in the West Wing — was too busy watching fiery TV photographs of the disaster unfolding round them to act and even hassle to hear their pleas.

“He was hard to reach, and you know why? Because it was live TV,” stated one shut Trump adviser. “If it’s TiVo, he just hits pause and takes the calls. If it’s live TV, he watches it, and he was just watching it all unfold.”

So much winning! So much so, America was going to "get tired" of all this winning all the time!!

I bet they are tired...but not from winning anything.

Interesting perspective on the attempted insurrection in the US from a non-white perspective. The game of "Nazis, traitors, or fascists" is enlightening:

I noticed Indian news coverage tends to be a bit more sensational than other media sources.

Not that they are wrong.

The Terrorists Who Attacked Congress At The President's Direction Came Prepared To Kill

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen didn't get a lot of sleep last weekend, as horrific scenes from last week's violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol played over and again in his head. It now appears clear that the armed mob, who were organized and cheered on by the president and his GOP backers in the House and Senate, came to the nation's capital prepared to commit acts of violence against members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence.

Horned D.C. protester makes first court appearance, refuses to eat in detention

11 Jan 2021

PHOENIX - The man in the horned headdress during the riot at the U.S. Capitol made his initial appearance in a Phoenix federal courtroom Monday.

Jacob Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli or the QAnon Shaman, appeared telephonically as he is being held in a quarantine section of a detention facility.

The 33-year-old QAnon conspiracy theorist was a frequent participant in pro-Trump rallies in Phoenix in recent months.

He often appeared in a costume of horns, fur headdress, and tan pants with no shirt.

He lives with his mother, Martha.

The public defender told Judge Deborah Fine in court Monday that Chansley was on an extremely restrictive diet, perhaps for religious reasons, and had not eaten since he was taken into custody.

"He gets very sick if he doesn't eat organic food - literally will get physically sick,“ Martha Chansley said.

Oh, poor snowflake. Of course, he thought of all that before storming the building and getting arrested, right? Right?

Also - Kiwi Chris Liddell sounds like he's trying to salvage his reputation back home, indicating a possible return: https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2021/01/donald-trump-s-kiwi-right-hand-man-chris-liddell-apparently-working-to-salvage-reputation-in-new-zealand.html

But what would he do here?

Timeline article on Stuff today

A growing list of Republicans are throwing their support behind Trump's second impeachment, according to Forbes.

Between 10 and 20 Republicans have privately indicted they will back the impeachment. Representative Liz Cheney, chair of the Republican conference, is reportedly "very seriously" considering it, as is Congressman Peter Meijer.

Maybe once a few come out, the rest of them will follow. Easy to imagine that a huge swath of the GOP secretly feel that getting rid of Trump will release them for 2024.

Post World War II, a number of South American countries created havens for Nazis, in particular Argentina.

Perhaps Chris Liddell should consider hanging out with like minded people in Bariloche, Argentina.

I know I'd support the New Zealand putting him and his ilk on the "No fly" terrorist list which would suit their actions. He could still take a boat to return.

Mirror: The quiet alpine town in Argentina that housed thousands of Nazis after the war - and Hitler may have been one

Powerful vids from Colbert and Amber. Pity more politicians wouldn't face the facts.
