The New York Times - These New Yorkers Are Accused of Taking Part in the Capitol Riot

today

The son of a Brooklyn judge

Wearing a police vest and draped in animal pelts, Aaron Mostofsky, 34, cut a distinctive figure when he was interviewed inside the Capitol while clutching a riot shield.

We were cheated,” he said to a reporter for The New York Post, repeating President Trump’s debunked claim of widespread election fraud. “I don’t think 75 million people voted for Trump - I think it was close to 85 million.”

On Tuesday, Mr. Mostofsky, the son of Judge Steven Mostofsky of Kings County Supreme Court, was arrested at his brother’s house in Brooklyn on charges that include stealing government property, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. ...

Both Mr. Mostofsky and his father are registered Democrats, according to election records. ...

What selfish, precious pricks these people are! They have half a dozen bathrooms and they can't spare one for those protecting their lives? I hope, somehow, they do end up in prison, where they have to share toilet facilities with scores of others, preferably ones who don't wash.

Oh where are; Vinegar Tits, The Freak & Queen Bea when you want them ?

So this is in storage?!?

I mean Melania being returned to her Slovenian mail-order brides shipping container, not the blood red Christmas trees.

shudder

I don't like the woman, but I think that comment may be a bit much. Either way, she's been in the US long enough that I have no doubt she has citizenship now, and there is a nonzero chance the most dialled number in her phone over the last few months has been her divorce attorney.

She can't divorce him now! He could drop dead of a heart attack or stroke caused by obesity aggravated by stress any second. It'd be like flopping to the ground two metres from the finish line of an ultramarathon and saying 'I just can't do it anymore, I quit!'

...and ladies, they are single.

Here's your chance to marry someone that'll never cheat on you, due to their general repulsiveness, and being in jail for the next 10 - 20 years.

And since they are privileged snowflakes, unlikely to survive their jail time, there's that sweet life insurance money.

Kyanar: Melania ... been in the US long enough that I have no doubt she has citizenship now, and there is a nonzero chance the most dialled number in her phone over the last few months has been her divorce attorney.

In the greatest misnomer since "Trump University", Melania was awarded an Einstein visa

BBC: What is the Einstein visa? And how did Melania Trump get one?

Nicknamed the "Einstein Visa", the EB-1 is in theory reserved for people who are highly acclaimed in their field - the government cites Pulitzer, Oscar, and Olympic winners as examples - as well as respected academic researchers and multinational executives.

Mrs Trump began applying for the visa in 2000, when she was Melania Knauss, a Slovenian model working in New York and dating Donald Trump. She was approved in 2001, one of just five people from Slovenia to win the coveted visa that year, according to the Post.

Becoming a citizen in 2006 gave her the right to sponsor her parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs, who are now in the US and in the process of applying for citizenship.
...
The government guidance for applicants cites Nobel prizes and international acclaim, but the reality is often more prosaic, said Susan McFadden, a specialist US visa lawyer at the Gudeon and McFadden law firm in London.

"You do not have to be a Nobel prize winner to get the extraordinary ability visa. I've gotten EB-1 visas for people you've never heard of and never will," she said.

"An experienced lawyer knows what the US citizenship and immigration services is looking for, and how to bring out of the client's background things that will be attractive to the agency."

I think it's nice. I like to hope that if I ever get arrested for attempting to violently overthrow the legitimately elected democratic government, then my mum will turn up to court to make sure I'm still eating my veges.

I think if Mitch McConnell supports conviction, then the impeachment will be successful because of the power and sway he has in the senate and other Republican senators falling in line behind him. I don't think he would have voted for impeachment if he had the opportunity to do so, but now that the impeachment is happening I think there's a decent chance he'll be on the side of convicting.

OK, this branch has gone more than far enough. No more revolting images, please.

Instead, let us consider the speech President (elect) Biden just made, introducing his $1.8 trillion (!) bill to help dig America out of the sewer Trump has put it in.
