Except America isn't united, and probably won't be for many years to come.

Should a flag depict the current state of a nation? Or simply represent an ideal?

If the latter, the face of Old Glory hasn't helped America achieve unity.

Trump and the Republican Party entered this year having stockpiled more than $175 million from fund-raising in November and December based on his false claims of voter fraud, spending only a tiny fraction on lawyers and bills for his effort to overturn the presidential election, according to new campaign finance reports filed on Sunday night.

The picture that emerges in the new Federal Election Commission reports is of Mr. Trump mounting a furious public relations effort to spread the lie and keep generating money from it, rather than making a sustained legal push to try to support his conspiracy theories.

His campaign’s single biggest expense in December was a nearly $5 million for his television advertisements.

His second-largest payment, $4.4 million, was for online advertising. ...

All told, Mr. Trump’s campaign spent only $10 million on legal costs ...

Donald Trump had acquittal in his second impeachment trial all teed up.

If there was any doubt that the necessary 17 Republican senators would never convict the former president, it was dispelled when 45 of 50 voted to essentially declare the entire proceeding unconstitutional.

But Trump couldn’t just take the win.

He’s determined to use the trial as one more forum to air his absurd lie about how the 2020 election was stolen from him - the lie he used to drive his violent supporters to rampage through the Capitol, the very thing that has him on trial in the first place.

Which means those Republican senators will once again have to publicly help him continue spreading that lie, with all the damaging ramifications that flow from that. ...

One of Trump’s new lawyers declined to charge Bill Cosby. The other maintains Jeffrey Epstein was murdered.

Miami CBS: Town Of Palm Beach Conducting Legal Review Of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Residency

The town of Palm Beach is reviewing the use of Mar-a-Lago as Former President Donald Trump’s permanent home.

Some Palm Beach residents say Trump is violating an agreement he made with the town.

When Trump turned the private residence into a social club in 1993, he agreed to certain limitations.

...there were rules concerning parking and traffic, and club members, Trump included, could not spend more than seven consecutive days at Mar-a-Lago, or no more than three weeks total a year.

Trump returned Mar-a-Lago on January 20, skipping the inauguration for President Joe Biden.

Palm Beach Town Manager Kirk Blouin says the matter is under legal review by the Town Attorney and it might be discussed at the upcoming town council meeting on February 9.

In December, the Trump Organization told CNN there was no document or agreement in place that prevents Ttrump from using Mar-a-Lago as his residence.

Meanwhile, many, once-loyal members of Mar-a-Lago are leaving because they no longer want to have any connection to Trump, according to the author of the definitive book about the resort.

Of course he'd use it to his personal advantage. But even if it weren't Trump, I don't see why a former president should be getting intelligence briefings anyway.
