SJB:

Do you mean he is going to shoot Melania and then himself and have their bodies burnt in the car park at Mar-a-Lago?

One can only hope.

Trump responds to Facebook ban until 2023:

Donald Trump reacts to two-year Facebook ban, calling it ‘an insult’: “Facebook’s ruling is an insult to the record-setting 75M people, plus many others, who voted for us in the 2020 Rigged Presidential Election,”

the former president will be banned from its platforms until January 2023, when it will get experts to review if it is safe to let him back onto it

Recent polling says a majority of Republican voters at this time continue to believe the 2020 election was stolen from ex-president Trump. The poll is very small but has been widely quoted.

More Donald in Wonderland stuff ...

The Washington Post - Politics - Trump and his allies try to rewrite, distort history of pandemic while casting Fauci as public enemy No. 1

today

Donald Trump and his Republican allies have spent the past few weeks trying to rewrite or distort the history of the pandemic, attempting with renewed vigor to villainize Anthony S. Fauci while lionizing the former president for what they portray as heroic foresight and underappreciated efforts to combat the deadly virus.

They have focused on the early moments of the coronavirus response and the origins of the virus, downplaying any role they may have played and casting others in the wrong, at times taking comments out of context and at others drawing conclusions that are unproved.

And at a time when the number of vaccinated people continues to rise and deaths are at one of their lowest levels, it has placed the coronavirus back at the center of the political debate.

Trump, who is expected to discuss the pandemic at an event in North Carolina Saturday night, is planning to make it a chief argument in a reputation rehabilitation effort. And Republicans are also making it a centerpiece of their midterm election campaigns, pledging to hold congressional investigations if they win back the House majority.

Now everybody is agreeing that I was right when I very early on called Wuhan as the source of COVID-19, sometimes referred to as the China Virus,” Trump said in a recent statement.

To me it was obvious from the beginning but I was badly criticized, as usual. Now they are all saying ‘He was right.’ Thank you!” ...

Fauci and Deborah Birx, the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator,
listen as Trump speaks during a briefing at the White House in March last year.

(They don't look happy)

Trump might be impossible to beat in a Republican primary but he's pretty much unelectable in a general election, considering a third of Republican voters polled now think the party needs to "move on" from Trump.

And this is precisely why Republicans are taking control of voting at the State level. They are tilting the odds in every way they can, making it almost impossible for a Democrat to win with anything less than an overwhelming majority.

PUTIN SAYS HE HAS NO INTENTION OF REINSTATING TRUMP

MOSCOW (The Borowitz Report)—Calling recent speculation “absurd,” Vladimir Putin said that he has “no intention whatsoever” of reinstating Donald J. Trump as President of the United States.

Speaking to reporters, the Russian President bristled at the suggestion that he would reinstall Trump in the White House “this August or any other month, for that matter.”

Irritated by the former U.S. President’s “needy” behavior, Putin said he wished Trump would stop texting him.

“Okay, he's been banned from Twitter, Facebook and God knows where else, plus he's dumb as a duck and has no skills, but there has to be something he can do. Manage a bordello, maybe?

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

So what do people think of Trousergate? I know Snopes has said he's got them on the right way round but I can't see how the video footage can be of trousers worn the right way round, everything about the images says they're on backwards.

It may be just because his nappies are so big.

And then...

People vote these idiots: "Texas Republican asks: can we fix the moon’s orbit to fight climate change?"

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jun/09/texas-republican-louie-gohmert-climate-change

The Texas Republican congressman Louie Gohmert has asked a senior US government official if changing the moon’s orbit around the Earth, or the Earth’s orbit around the sun, might be a solution for climate change.

Bizarrely, the question was not posed to anyone from Nasa or even the Pentagon. Instead it was asked of a senior forestry service official during a House natural resources committee hearing on Tuesday.

Speaking with Jennifer Eberlien, associate deputy chief of the National Forest Service, Gohmert asked if it was possible to alter the orbits of the moon, or the Earth, as a way of combating climate change.

“I understand from what’s been testified to the Forest Service and the BLM [Bureau of Land Management], you want very much to work on the issue of climate change,” Gohmert said, adding that a past director of Nasa had once told him that orbits of the moon and the Earth were indeed changing.

“We know there’s been significant solar flare activity, and so … is there anything that the National Forest Service or BLM can do to change the course of the moon’s orbit, or the Earth’s orbit around the sun?” Gohmert asked. “Obviously that would have profound effects on our climate.”

The New York Times - Backward Logic

today

“Poor Mike Pence didn’t know which end to kiss. It was very confusing.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“It looks like he bumped into something and his pants deployed in an airbag.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Even Trump’s pants lie.” — JAMES CORDEN

“And, again, let’s be clear, he did not put them on backward, which is good for Trump, because it would be very embarrassing to be the first president to put your pants on backward.
As opposed to what he is, the first president where everyone believed it was at least possible "  — SETH MEYERS

“But it raised a lot of questions, like: How did he zip the pants? Was his belt also on backward? And how lucky are we that this man no longer has the nuclear codes?” — STEPHEN COLBERT
