The New York Times - Trump plans to fight the release of his tax returns to Congress.
today
Former President Donald J. Trump plans to fight the release of his tax returns to Congress, a lawyer for Mr. Trump said on Monday.
The comments from the lawyer, Ronald P. Fischetti, came days after a legal opinion was issued by the Justice Department that said that the Treasury Department must turn over six years of the former president’s tax returns to congressional investigators.
“We’re going to fight this tooth and nail,” he said.
The opinion, which the Treasury said that it would comply with, opened the possibility that the returns, which Mr. Trump has fought for years to keep secret, could be released to Congress.
Is it possible that Donald has something to hide? ... 😏

Two more police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 have committed suicide. This brings the total to four. This sad fact needs to be noted and prominently displayed wherever possible. The craven self-serving politicians and others who dare to question the reality of the events on that date are despicable low-lifes undeserving of the positions they occupy. Like their master, they are miserable parasites seeking to profit from the ignorance and stupidity of others. These are the officers who died:
Gunther Hashida
Kyle DeFreytag
Jeffrey Smith
Howard Liebengood
Their names deserve to be known and remembered.

For a country that was (supposedly) founded upon democrat principles, their electoral system is a complete and utter farce.

It wasn't in the 18th century when communication could take a week on horseback and there probably would not have been a United States if a compromise on the number of senators had not been reached. All things considered, the establishment of the USA was a glittering achievement for the time.

The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix: This governor is becoming the face of the anti-mask movement
today
Ron DeSantis (R) is Florida’s governor, and lately he is rather happily taking on the task of being the face of the anti-mask movement now that former president Donald Trump is less visible.
It’s a showdown that might reap him lots of political attention on the right, but one that could be risky as cases spike in Florida and surrounding states.
Here’s what’s happening:
- DeSantis is opposed to mask mandates, but on Friday he issued a mandate of his own threatening to withhold state funds from any school district that requires students to wear masks.
- Schools in Florida are about to open, and DeSantis argued that parents should get to choose whether their children wear masks, even though the federal government recommends students across the country wear them.
- On Thursday, several major school districts in Florida said they’re going to require masks anyway. So now DeSantis is in a position of having to decide whether to actually cut off funding to schools - not a popular thing for a governor to do - or back down from a position that is earning him lots of attention on the right.
Oh and did we mention DeSantis is a potential GOP contender for the presidency in 2024?
He has two very different constituencies to think about. ...

Trump is the kind of guy that its cash up front, or you don't do business with him.
Looks like even that might not be enough now lol:
5th August: Colorado federal judge orders Trump lawyers to pay Facebook's legal fees for false accusations, claiming the lawsuit was "disorganized, fantastical, and the stuff violent insurrections are made of".
MSNBC reports this could bankrupt the Colorado lawyers, because "Zuckerberg hasn't finalized fees with his lawyers yet". 🤣
