Are you suggesting the Trump machine is run by Nigerian scammers? I can go along with that.

People sure are quick to forget the valuable things Wikileaks has done, and the life-long costs of this to Julian Assange. You don't have to like the guy or to agree with him to acknowledge that he has put himself on the line. How many of the rest of us would?

I totally agree (same with Snowden) and think we need organisations like Wikileaks to help keep those in power in check - however Assange, for whatever reasons, has turned to using Wikileaks a way to push his own personal agenda. If he has information, release it! By holding stuff back and releasing it when it suits him and with his own skewed commentary delegitimises what is being released and harms the credibility of Wikileaks going forward.

Another lie exposed. I wonder when those who voted for him will start wondering just what they voted for.

That doesn't feel like a lie to me. That feels like something he said that he later determined was not going to do any good. Obama has all but said he would pardon her, so it would achieve nothing. He needs to concentrate on the battles he can win.

I'm not sure how Obama can pardon her if Obama is no longer in office when Trump decides to prosecute. Seems impossible to me.

Agree it's very unlikely Trump would seek a prosecution for anything.

joker97: At the end it says it is highly unlikely to happen unless the republicans who control the Senate and the House really wants to do so.

Impeaching him doesn't mean they get a Democrat for a president - Pence would take over. And that may be far more palatable to the republicans who hold both the house and the senate, particularly how many of them Trump has attacked.

Also impeaching does not necessarily mean he gets sacked as President. Impeaching a reprimand. Bill Clinton was impeached and finished out his term.

Only the House can impeach, which basically just means he get tried by the Senate. If the senate upholds, he's out

He wont get impeached for lying as that is his norm...it will be much bigger eg conflict of interests etc.

As i said earlier he will get bored quickly with the new job.

Some concerns have been raised about the integrity of voting machines. The Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is requesting a recount in Wisconsin, Michigan & Pennsylvania. Democrats are reportedly unlikely to do it due to embarrassment and likely it won't change the outcome anyway. It's up to the Greens to request. Stein needs US$2.5 million by Friday:

It's an interesting thing to do regardless. It's also somewhat complex interaction between state law and federal law as in the Florida recount.

For some more context, some analysts have identified (apparently) a statistical difference in the results between electronic vs. paper based voting in the same states. Perhaps that is down to other factors, but perhaps there is something there. Given what is at stake, a review probably isn't a bad thing.

The vote in Wisconsin is to be audited. Efforts are under way to get a recount in two other states. Democrats are also lobbying electors to break their commitment to vote for Trump. This election is just the gift that goes on giving.

For a first-world country, their voting and electoral processes are incredibly Mickey Mouse.
