It is really an unjust world if this orange idiot doesn't get a prison sentence and disappear from history.

Phrases such as "comeuppance," dose of his own medicine", and "just deserts" are starting to make the rounds.

Washington Post: Citizen Trump may have broken a law that President Trump made a felony

...If Trump is found to have violated federal law in removing and retaining classified documents without authorization, he could be convicted of a felony punishable by five years in prison. And that conviction would be a felony carrying that punishment because of a law signed by President Donald Trump.

Trump’s 2016 campaign was intertwined with a similar question. His Democratic opponent, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, had been found to have operated a private email server that she used for official business — including, the FBI determined, some that was classified.
...
On the day that the House was set to vote on the reauthorization, Trump complained on Twitter.

The act was gutted, and changed into a felony.

The expiring law originally read:
“...shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both."

Now
“ …shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.”

With that, it became a felony.

If Texas and/or other states move to secede, will Biden ultimately use force to preserve the union?

The Washington Post - Truth Social faces financial peril as worry about Trump’s future grows

27 August

Former president Donald Trump’s Truth Social website is facing financial challenges as its traffic remains puny and the company that is scheduled to acquire it expresses fear that his legal troubles could lead to a decline in his popularity.

Six months after its high-profile launch, the site - a clone of Twitter, which banned Trump after Jan. 6, 2021 - still has no guaranteed source of revenue and a questionable path to growth, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings from Digital World Acquisition, the company planning to take Trump’s start-up public.

The company warned this week that its business could be damaged if Trump “becomes less popular or there are further controversies that damage his credibility.”

The company has seen its stock price plunge nearly 75 percent since its March peak and reported in a filing last week that it had lost $6.5 million in the first half of the year.

If places like Texas and Florida secede the last thing Biden should be doing is considering any moves to get them back. It'd actually be a pretty good outcome, a large percentage of crazies would be drawn to move there and all Biden has to do is close the door to make sure they stay out.

...and build a new border wall to keep them there! One Way door in - No getting out!

You don't need a wall, they'll keep themselves out, you just need to have the immigration form ask them things like which gender pronoun they prefer, who won the 2020 election, and whether women should have rights, and they'll be repelled like no force field ever could.

For all the hatred spewed by conservatives against East coast liberals (primarily New York) and West coast liberals (primarily California), conservative regions pay less than their share of taxes, and have much more representation than their size deserves (Senate is two seats per state).

The nearly $1 trillion farm bill couldn’t have passed Congress without the support of self-proclaimed fiscal conservatives.

California’s GDP in 2021 was $3.35T, representing 14.6% of the total U.S. economy. If California were a country, it would be the 5th largest economy in the world, more productive than India and the United Kingdom.

Admittedly if Texas was a country, it is larger than Russia's. (9th versus 11th, pre-invasion). And if I was comparing craziness I'd say Texas was Marjorie "Jewish space lasers" Taylor Greene and the USA was Miley Cyrus.

So yeah, goodbye Florida, Texas, and the Bible Belt. Good luck in your future endeavors. Sorry it's our policy not to give recommendations. Security will help you pack your desk.

Th Nation: Ron Johnson Now Admits He Was Part of the Fake-Elector Scheme

But the senator from Wisconsin says it’s cool because he only participated in the seditious conspiracy for “a couple seconds.”

Senator Ron Johnson says he doesn’t need to testify before the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol because he was only briefly involved with plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Seriously. That’s what he says.

The Wisconsin Republican has been under scrutiny as an alleged co-conspirator in former President Donald Trump’s plot to overturn the results of 2020 election. During its fourth session, the committee revealed that Johnson and his aides were involved in an attempt to deliver lists of fake electors to Vice President Mike Pence shortly before Congress was scheduled to certify the Electoral College results that would make Joe Biden president.

A reporter asked Johnson, who is currently bidding for a third term, about the accusations at a campaign stop in Wisconsin. The reporter wanted Johnson to clear up questions about his involvement in the effort to get lists of fake electors from the states of Wisconsin and Michigan into Pence’s hands, as part of a scheme to have the Republican vice president replace legitimate lists of electors from states won by Biden with slates of Trump backers.

“My involvement in that attempt to deliver spanned the course of a couple seconds,” Johnson told the reporter from WISN-TV in an interview that aired Sunday. “I think I fielded three texts and sent two, and talked to my chief of staff that, ‘somebody wants you to deliver something.’ Yeah, I knew nothing about it. And in the end, those electors were not delivered because we found out from the vice president’s staff they didn’t want them delivered. End of story.”

Seeing as a few of you have linked to this excellent book, I thought an image might be appropriate.

I was recently gifted a copy and it's a great read. Witty, informative and wickedly hilarious. I often highlight passages in good books I keep, eg, Youval Noah Harari's brilliant Homo Sap trilogy. But with this offering from Rick Wilson, I'd have to highlight just about the entire book 😉
