I think the orange buffoon must be getting a little...jealous? Ron is starting to outshine him.

I really like this line by Fareed Zakaria in the Washington Post:
'Many of the critiques of the GOP and its leaders get it somewhat wrong. The party is not filled with authoritarians (though many do exist). It’s filled with cowards.'

Interesting interview with the author of Thank You for your Servitude. Great book, I recommend reading it.
For people in Orkland thinking of getting it through the library system, the waiting list for it is... long, you're looking at several months wait. Definitely worth reading though.
How about we set up a swap system for these Trump\US politics books? Then we'd only need to pay for postage. I'm currently reading Rick Wilson's 'Running Against The Devil' and I've recently finished 'Everything Trump Touches Dies'. Both are great reads but I'll probably never read them again. What you think, guys?

The Washington Post - A red wave of criticism crashes into Donald Trump after midterm losses
11 Nov 2022
... The volume of open criticism illustrates a rare moment of weakness for Trump among Republicans just as he prepares to announce his 2024 presidential bid next week.
Exit polls showed his favorability as even lower than President Biden’s on Tuesday, and polls of Republican voters suggest he is losing ground to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in hypothetical presidential matchups. ...
Trump allies are attempting to deflect the blame on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for the poor showing, while Trump has a released a flurry of statements falsely claiming fraud in the midterm elections and saying he will easily win another Republican primary.

I find the ones most interesting about the events after the Capitol riot, and reading what his clown lawyers (Rudy, I'm looking at you) tried to do to overturn the election - and failed!

In principal I support the idea but I've read more than I ever really wanted to about the orange clown via standard media, one book on him was enough.

The Washington Post - Congressional Republicans panic as they watch their lead dwindle
‘Reality is going to be rough’
... Outgoing Rep. Peter Meijer (R-Mich.) told The Washington Post he knew the evening of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol that the GOP would have a difficult time proving to voters they should be in the majority in two years.
"By midnight on January 6, it was obvious that if we continued to sleepwalk down the path of crazy we’d face a rude awakening,” he said.
“Instead of facing those facts, the GOP spent the last two years heading in the same direction and actively avoiding any internal reckoning.
"After Tuesday, we have no choice but to heed voters when they say that ‘the grass is green, the sky is blue, and by the way, you just got your ass handed to you.’ But waking up to that reality is going to be rough.”

The NY Times - Democrats Hold the Senate
breaking!
Democrats sealed control of the Senate on Saturday as Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada narrowly defeated Adam Laxalt, a Republican former state attorney general, a decisive moment in an extraordinary midterm election in which Democrats defied historical patterns and predictions of major losses.

Sensational. Now onto Georgia...
Also: Ron might be actually shifting up a gear towards running for President in 2024: https://www.businessinsider.com/pro-desantis-for-president-super-pac-are-back-on-after-trump-losses-2022-11
And also: Scott Adams, the guy I now loathe after hearing how much of a Trump-adorer he was (see here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=184&topicid=191035&page_no=1095#2497714) may now also - finally - be throwing Trump under the bus as well. But I'll believe it when I fully see him (referred to as "the Dilbert guy" in this article) do it: https://uproxx.com/viral/trump-dropped-by-dilbert-cartoonist/
The unexpectedly good performance of the Democrats has reignited a spark of hopeful optimism in my aged breast. The fact that so many elections are so close tempers that optimism. I am relieved the Democrats are doing so well, but concerned that so many election results are so close to 50-50. What this seems to say is that half of all Americans are bitterly opposed to the other half. That does not bode well for the future of the country.

I have to admit I'm extremely surprised by the GOPs relatively poor result. I fully expected the Dems to get slaughtered.
At this point I feel like most US voters are simply voting for the party churns their stomach the least.
Does anyone know who this jackass is?
Apparently he was interviewing Kari Lake when she made her disgusting comment about the attack on Paul Pelosi. He then started guffawing like a moron. Maybe he's hoping for a job wiping Trump's generous backside.

Some local "news" person, I believe - I couldn't find his name: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-election/arizona-gop-nominee-kari-lake-mocks-attack-paul-pelosi-campaign-event-rcna54960
Of course, if someone had attacked someone Kari Lake (dubbed "Trump in a dress" by some) actually cared about, my God, we would never hear the end of what a travesty it was. God the hypocrisy of these morons makes me sick.
I hope she loses, big time. Then she can crawl back under whatever rock Trump coaxed her out of.
