kingdragonfly: Off subject, but here's an Indian cook making the world's blandest sandwich.
I don't think she's actually Indian, I mean white bread with the crust cut off and diced cucumber, carrots, and mayonez? That's Ethel from Bognor Regis, not anyone who's prepared Indian cuisine. Even something as plain as dal soup gets enough extras added to it to make it more interesting than crustless-white-bread sandwiches.

gzt: I have to tell you, some people will find your comment unpleasant and offensive.
What, pointing out that Indian cuisine is fabulous while white bread with the crust cut off must be some sort of British blandness that slipped in?

The NY Times - Garland Names Special Counsel for Trump Investigations
breaking
WASHINGTON - Attorney General Merrick B. Garland appointed a special counsel on Friday to take over two major criminal investigations involving former President Donald J. Trump, including his role in events leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and his handling of sensitive government documents.
John L. Smith, the former head of the Justice Department’s public integrity section, will oversee the investigation into Mr. Trump’s retention of sensitive government documents at his home in Florida, and “key” aspects of the separate inquiry into the former president’s actions before the Jan. 6 attack.
“Based on recent developments, including the former president announcement that he is a candidate for president in the next election and the sitting president’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel,” Mr. Garland said.
“Such an appointment underscores the department’s commitment to both independence and accountability in particularly sensitive matters.”
The appointment of a special counsel was a way for the Justice Department to insulate its investigations against Mr. Trump from political considerations.

It won't go anywhere. Everything is already too slow. Nothing will be done. They protect each other.

Can Trump tear down Ron De Santis like he did to Jeb Bush back in 2016?

Jack Smith most recently served as a war crimes prosecutor at The Hague
BBC News - Special counsel Jack Smith to oversee criminal investigations into Trump
today
An independent lawyer has been appointed to oversee the US justice department's criminal investigations into former President Donald Trump. ...
Mr Smith is a former prosecutor in New York and most recently served as a chief prosecutor in The Hague where he investigated war crimes in Kosovo. ...
In a statement on Friday evening from his Florida estate Mar-a-Lago, Mr Trump slammed the "horrendous abuse of power" by a "corrupt and highly political" justice department in appointing a "super-radical left" special counsel.
Donald is so predictable ... Look at Me. I'm a Victim. ... again.
He sounds like a worried man ... excellent ! 😶
