The NY Times - Central Question as Georgia Inquiry Wraps: Will Trump Face Criminal Charges?

today

For the last two years, prosecutors in Atlanta have been conducting a criminal investigation into whether the Trump team interfered in the presidential election in Georgia, which Mr. Trump narrowly lost to President Biden.

With the wide-ranging inquiry now entering the indictment phase, the central question is whether Mr. Trump himself will face criminal charges. ...

As he maintains his innocence, Mr. Trump is turning adversity into opportunity :

He doth protest too much, methinks    🙄

What the hell is he going to do with this list? Hasn't he pleaded for enough money already?

Mind you, once a grifter, always a grifter.

Hopefully, this one ...

This tombstone, bearing no death date, suddenly appeared early one morning in Central Park, NY.

This is a little bit surprising, but the other side of the coin is that De Santis hasn't exactly come out and said "I want to run for president" either (yet).

Lawyers found classified documents in Trump's VP's home. First on CNN: Classified documents found at Pence's Indiana home | CNN Politics

Two things:

- Republicans surely should investigate Mike Pence as well as Biden then? But let's not let hypocrisy get in the way.

- Trump could derail DOJ investigations on him by saying "Everyone does it". The difference here is not the crime but the coverup. Also, sitting Presidents couldn't be prosecuted but he is not currently in office.

Very fitting! (I only just discovered this cartoonist recently - some of his work is quite clever, like this piece).

Over the weekend this has resulted in bizarre scenes as the former president claimed credit for a club championship, despite reportedly not competing in the tournament at the same time as everyone else.

“A great honor to have won the Senior Club Championship at Trump International Golf Club, one of the best courses in the Country, in Palm Beach, Florida,” he wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
""
“At Winged Foot, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball onto the fairway they nicknamed him ‘Pele’.

“He cheats at the highest level.

“He cheats when people are watching, and he cheats when they aren’t.

“He cheats whether you like it or not.
