kingdragonfly: Retired conservative federal judge J. Michael Luttig and Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Laurence Tribe make the case that Trump is disqualified from state ballots.

The Atlantic: The Constitution prohibits Trump from ever being President again

In the amendment’s Section 3, automatically excludes from future office and position of power in the United States government any person who has taken an oath to support and defend our Constitution.

...

Well that doesn't make sense. Every american school child has to re-take the oath every school day, as if they live in some dictatorship where the supreme leader is a flag rather than a high ranking military officer, and from your quote every american would be excluded from office.

I went to the linked article and the last half of the sentence had been cut off from your post.

I discovered the article actually said:

This protection, embodied in the amendment’s often-overlooked Section 3, automatically excludes from future office and position of power in the United States government—and also from any equivalent office and position of power in the sovereign states and their subdivisions—any person who has taken an oath to support and defend our Constitution and thereafter rebels against that sacred charter, either through overt insurrection or by giving aid or comfort to the Constitution’s enemies.

NZ Herald: Donald Trump indictment: Lawyers indicted with Trump say they were doing their jobs

As John Eastman prepared to surrender to Georgia authorities last week for an indictment related to efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, he issued a statement denouncing the criminal case as targeting attorneys “for their zealous advocacy on behalf of their clients”.

Another defendant, Rudy Giuliani, struck a similar note, saying he was being indicted for his work as Donald Trump’s attorney. “I never thought I’d get indicted for being a lawyer,” he lamented.

The 18 defendants charged alongside Trump in this month’s racketeering indictment in Fulton County include more than half a dozen lawyers. And the statements from Eastman and Giuliani provide early foreshadowing of at least one of the defences they seem poised to raise: that they were merely doing their jobs as lawyers when they manoeuvred on Trump’s behalf to undo the results of that election

CNN: Giuliani loses defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers

A federal judge has determined Rudy Giuliani forfeits the defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers against him, a decision that could lead to significant penalties for the former Donald Trump attorney.

In court in recent weeks, Giuliani said he could no longer contest that he made false and defamatory statements about Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss – who are only one group of plaintiffs suing him for defamation related to his work for Trump after the 2020 election.

Giuliani said he struggled to maintain his own access to his electronic records – partly because of the cost – and didn’t adequately respond to subpoenas for information from Moss and Freeman as the case moved forward.
...
The damages could amount to thousands if not millions of dollars.

Giuliani has already been sanctioned almost $90,000 for Freeman and Moss’ attorneys’ fees in the case, and Howell says the former New York mayor may be saddled with additional similar sanctions.
...
The mother-daughter duo has been candid about how their lives were impacted by Trump and Giuliani’s claims that they were guilty of election fraud.

“There is nowhere I feel safe. Nowhere. Do you know how it feels to have the president of the United States target you?” Freeman said last year in video testimony to the House select committee that investigated the events surrounding the January 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol.

Moss said her privacy was destroyed when she learned that Giuliani had accused her mother, Freeman, of passing some kind of USB drive to her like “vials of cocaine or heroin” as part of an elaborate vote-stealing scheme, she said. In reality, the object in question was a ginger mint.

The NY Times - Trump Inflated Property Values by Up to $2.2 Billion, New York A.G. Says

breaking

Before Donald J. Trump was indicted four times over, he was sued by New York’s attorney general, who said that for years the former president, his business and members of his family had fraudulently overvalued their assets by billions of dollars.

Before any of those criminal trials will take place, Mr. Trump is scheduled for a civil trial in New York in October. During the trial, the attorney general, Letitia James, will seek to bar him and three of his children from leading their family business, the Trump Organization, and to require him to pay a fine of around $250 million.

On Wednesday, Ms. James fired an opening salvo, arguing that a trial is not necessary to find that Mr. Trump and the other defendants inflated the value of their assets in annual financial statements, fraudulently obtaining favorable loans and insurance arrangements.

The fraud was so pervasive, she said in a court filing, that Mr. Trump had falsely boosted his net worth by between $812 million and $2.2 billion each year over the course of a decade.

The judge, Arthur F. Engoron, is scheduled to hold a hearing in late September [2023] and could rule then.

Actually, that's probably quite correct. His ass would be around 215lbs, with the rest of his body, being mostly hot air, about another 100lbs.

Who profits from them? I wouldn't put it past Trump to dump on himself if he could make money from it.

I just had a great idea for Trump promotional gizmo.

An orange inflatable Trump Ass that people could kick around the back yard at parties and barbecues. And because of its shape, it'd never go where it was aimed, so it'd make for a hilarious footy game once everyone was a coupla sheets into the wind. And it could fart for extra points when it was jumped on.

Maybe I'll send him the plans...No, on second thoughts, I'd never get paid 🤪
