Vain showmanship. Nothing will come of it – Putin isn't really interested.

100%

Putin is working this as Trump gets sucked in. Other nations cant tell him that, for obvious reasons.

Putin wants Ukraine, then its Moldova, Baltic states, etc. What has happened in the last 4 years, supports his goals of USSR 2.0

China may well go after "its valid territory", Taiwan, sooner than later, ideally now as US etc are diluted. And its a precedent. Be illegal, you win

Agree, and also to Sideface

UKR is serious, they know that they need to cede territory.

EU and like minded nations are all in, but if they take a twinkle of credit, Trump will fight back

Putin (Im not calling it Russia) is serious. As its ok to invade a sovereign nation and be awarded the territorial wins. That they target hospitals, schools, kindies, apartment buildings doesn't seem relevant. But if UKR allegedly targeted Putins house, thats not acceptable.... /S.  Trump was angry, Putin said because of that Russians, sorry, Putin, will take a harder stance.

I could blame the MANY nations that can and would put Putin and Russia in its place, but Putin AND Trump will fight back. The greatest and largest democracy in the world. Trump has caused this conflict to go on and on and on. Russia is poor and weak, but Trump is working hard to keep him in play

IMO it's not OK to invade a sovereign state and be rewarded with territorial gains. That's like saying it's OK to go and beat my neighbour up and take some of his section and add it to mine. That's the Might is Right approach.

Ukraine probably realises that they may have to cede territory in order to achieve some form of peace. They shouldn't have to. It's just rewarding bad behavior and we all know the Russians will be back for more anyway.

The only solution is to defeat Russia even only if that means pushing them back inside their borders.

The bigger issue when Russia is defeated is what happens inside Russia. There's likely to be chaos and a whole lot of nukes. It's a scary thought.

Probably for the sake of the Russian people and the world as a whole there needs to be an administration like West Germany or Japan had at the end of WWII. Somehow I don't see that happening.

Of course it's not, your reply "seemed" to infer I accept that? Of course I don't, but Putin does and he strings Turmp along, and normal leaders cannot take Trump to task as he is an idiot and "controls" the largest nation on Earth.

So, the natural levelling of normal people and idiot people wont happen while Trump rules.

UKR cannot rely on the US. They also cannot rely on EU and others as the latter countries arent allowed to support UKR, by Putin and Trump. So, the ability of countries to intercept and push Russia back is there, but Putin, and therefore Trump, wont allow that. Totally bizarre and sad

I didn't think you'd accept that it was OK to invade a sovereign nation, though I must admit the way your reply was phrased it could be read that way.

I forgot to add that the "attack" on Putin's residence has been widely seen as a false flag incident timed to try and impact the current negotiations. There is no way something like attacking Putin directly is in the Ukrainians best interests. They're much smarter than that.

100% agree on that. Just another example of lies and they cannot be trusted. "No need to show evidence" and scoffing at a request to see evidence.

Not sure if this is real or AI generated

Image looks a bit AI

Doesnt have enough Zelenskyy accent

It was quite pointed at times also. As in, UKR has to be careful with keeping Trump onside, part of this address was a bit pointed. Not saying thats wrong, but a slight departure from the norm. Still a good watch though.

Russia has been pummelling Ukranian infrastfructure and civilians for the past 4 years or so and the moment someone attacks their infrastructure they squeal like a stuck pig. For all we know it may well be a false flag event. The attacks timing seems to be that it was designed to undermine the peace talks. I wonder who wants peace the most?

Im getting a little frustrated, not in a bad way

Zelenskyy and NATO/EU have had great discussions, narrowing that 10%. Security alliances, etc. Boots on the ground in a ceasefire. But thats all based on a ceasefire, which will not happen.

Trump has already set a precedent, I want the western hemisphere, I can see China being allowed if not encouraged to taking Taiwan, I can see US allowing Russia to take Ukraine

Roll on mid terms

They can turn to the EU or NATO, but where they falter is veto rights, which doesnt make it collective. "Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others"

Is the rest of NATO really going to mount a kinetic defense of Greenland against the USA? If Trump really moves to take Greenland then I think what we are actually about to see is the end of NATO.

USA already has a base in Greenland. Denmark is part of the NATO alliance.

Why does the US need to 'own' it when the US already has military bases there?

Having angered the 'Boss' with recent actions.

To distract from stuff, 'not important you don't need to see', 'it does not exist', 'hoax don't look'
MAGA just lap it up, Elon can amplify, Zuckerburg knows who real power is too.

Getting back to destroying European and Western alliance for Putin as compensation.
Helping to scramble long term support for Ukraine.

While North Korea gets better and faster at making 10's millions of weapons.
Iran with drone training, technology transfer, new generations of Shaheed, and ballistic missiles.

That production experience and field feedback, North Koreans are quite capable of learning.
So failure rate likely dropping as production increases.
Someone said Russia's main problem is keeping up with getting them from railhead, over Siberian railway to Europe.

Demoralizing Ukraine, sowing doubt of unified long term support, less peace-meal drops.
Europe can't actually deliver some impactful stuff without USA export permission even if they go alone.

The Greenland bases utility as 'first to be fried'. Maybe they had this as a motto?
Line goes dead ala 'Doctor Strangelove'
In world of submarines and satellites utility disappeared.
USA scaled down spending in Greenland 'itself'.

Submarines are far less whack-able.  Satellites see launches immediately

Exactly. And I'm sure if America wanted to build more bases that Greenland/Denmark would be quite happy to let them do so.

I think the real motive is that Trump thinks that there are lots of minerals and rare earths, etc in Greenland and he wants those for America (never mind that they'd be extremely difficult to mine and there are other locations with much easier access).
