Trump is every defense attorneys' worst nightmare, who are desperately trying to keep him out of jail (thank God)

I'm sure they want to grab him buy the tie and say "Just shut the f__k up!" and slap him.

I guess a lifetime of a senior citizen who always plays the victim card and never faced any consequences for his actions will do that.

Hello extra-fat orange jumpsuit!

CNN: Trump says it was ‘my decision’ to try to overturn 2020 election results

Former President Donald Trump said that he received counsel from numerous people shortly after the 2020 election but that it was his decision to push the false claim he won the presidency and try to overturn the results.

“It was my decision, but I listened to some people,” Trump told NBC’s “Meet the Press” in an interview that aired Sunday.

Trump has been indicted over his efforts to subvert the 2020 election results. He has pleaded not guilty in all cases and denied any wrongdoing.

A central premise of special counsel Jack Smith’s case, according to his indictment of the former president, is that Trump knew the election claims he was making were false after being told by close aides that he had lost but disseminated them anyway to make them appear legitimate – all in service of an alleged criminal conspiracy.

“I was listening to different people, and when I added it all up, the election was rigged,” Trump told Kristen Welker in the interview, again pushing the false claim as he seeks the 2024 Republican nomination for president.

“You know who I listen to? Myself. I saw what happened,” Trump said.

What a brave leader (◔_◔)

Trump represents the "law-and-order" party perfectly.

AP: Trump refuses to say whether he watched US Capitol riot unfold

Former US president Donald Trump repeatedly declined in an interview to answer questions about whether he watched the Capitol riot unfold on television, saying he would “tell people later at an appropriate time”.

Trump, the current front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, refused to say on NBC's Meet the Press that aired on Sunday, how he spent January 6, 2021, once the insurrection began and whether he made phone calls as his supporters stormed the seat of American democracy.

“I’m not going to tell you. I’ll tell people later at an appropriate time,” Trump told moderator Kristen Welker after she asked if he spent that afternoon watching the attack on television in a dining room at the White House.

Trump's former aides have said he sequestered himself in the room off the Oval Office to watch, at times even rewinding and rewatching some parts.

In the interview, taped Thursday at Trump's golf club in New Jersey, Trump said in response to Welker's pressing him about his public silence during the violence that he had made “beautiful statements” on the day of the attack.

Trump’s supporters, fuelled by his lies about the 2020 presidential election, stormed the building as Congress prepare to certify the victory of Democrat Joe Biden. Trump is facing federal criminal charges for his efforts to overturn his loss in that election, but he is not facing charges related to the insurrection.

Trump said he might consider pardoning some of the rioters charged for their actions that day.

Apparently he did watch the riots unfold on TV (as per Rage): https://edition.cnn.com/2021/09/14/politics/woodward-book-trump-nuclear/index.html

According to the authors, Trump ignored repeated requests by both staff and his daughter Ivanka Trump to call off the rioters at the Capitol on January 6.

In one episode, retired Gen. Keith Kellogg, who served as Pence’s national security adviser, was in the White House with Trump while he watched the insurrection unfold on television.

Kellogg urged Trump to act. “You really should do a tweet,” Kellogg said, according to the authors. “You need to get a tweet out real quick, help control the crowd up there. This is out of control. They’re not going to be able to control this. Sir, they’re not prepared for it. Once a mob starts turning like that, you’ve lost it.”

“Yeah,” Trump said. The authors write, ‘Trump blinked and kept watching television.’

The NY Times - Trump Says He Hopes Meadows Will Remain ‘Loyal’ to Him in Election Case

17 Sep 23

Former President Donald J. Trump said he hoped Mark Meadows - his final White House chief of staff and a co-defendant in a sweeping racketeering indictment in Georgia stemming from efforts to thwart the 2020 election - was still “loyal” to him.

Mr. Trump made his comment during a lengthy interview with Kristen Welker, the moderator of NBC’s “Meet The Press,” broadcast on Sunday morning. ...

By the way, do you think your former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, is still loyal to you? He just pleaded not guilty in the Georgia case,” Ms. Welker asked.

Well, I hope he’s loyal to me,” Mr. Trump said. ...

In his interview, Mr. Trump extensively reiterated his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen ...

The food in prison isn't supposed to be that great. They don't even have a menu. Is there actually a delivery service now, I mean, you can't even get away during the lunch break? Or can you redeem your mileage points there for a meal upgrade? 😄

Tinkerisk: The food in prison isn't supposed to be that great.

From my very limited hearsay knowledge, in the US it does vary tremendously. I've heard comments that it's extremely repetitive and bland, not necessarily bad.

I also understand US prison food given respect religious beliefs, so if you're a vegan or Muslim you'll be given appropriate food.

Local jails, I understand can be the worst, and federal prisons can be the better (again with little daily variation)

In the 1950's, it wasn't unusual for short-term jails to give only water and bread with sorghum or blackstrap molasses (unlike sugar, they have a tiny amount of nutrition, about 3% of some daily needs)
