Kilack:

Trump is probably going to win.

The Republican primary? Oh, absolutely (at this stage). But all the crap and lies he keeps pouring out endlessly doesn't play too well with the general electorate. That's where I feel he's going to have more than one hurdle to overcome.

It's still possible that special counsel Jack Smith could lose, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Remember the judge is Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee. She who drew scrutiny last year for granting a Trump team request to appoint an independent arbiter, which was of course was reversed by a unanimous three-judge appeals panel.

Also we're talking about southern Florida, where the local motto is "if you can catch it you can f__k it."

ABC News: Trump wrote to-do lists for assistant on White House documents marked classified: Sources

One of former President Donald Trump's long-time assistants told federal investigators that Trump repeatedly wrote to-do lists for her on documents from the White House that were marked classified, according to sources familiar with her statements.

As described to ABC News, the aide, Molly Michael, told investigators that -- more than once -- she received requests or taskings from Trump that were written on the back of notecards, and she later recognized those notecards as sensitive White House materials -- with visible classification markings -- used to brief Trump while he was still in office about phone calls with foreign leaders or other international-related matters.
...
The sources said Michael also told federal investigators that last year she grew increasingly concerned with how Trump handled recurring requests from the National Archives for the return of all government documents being kept in boxes at Mar-a-Lago -- and she felt that Trump's claims about it at the time would be easy to disprove, according to the sources.

Sources said that after Trump heard the FBI wanted to interview Michael last year, Trump allegedly told her, "You don't know anything about the boxes."

Yeah,  When I said Trump will win, it's a real threat whether anyone likes it or not and a lot of Americans want him to win. its plain scary.

Biden is 80 years old, Bless him, but your brain aint the same at 80 years old.  I cant believe Trump and Biden are the best of America, the system is broken.

I have my opinions on NZ parties for sure, Definitely will vote one way this year but there isn't that massive political divide HERE that we see in the USA yet. - thank goodness.

It goes through every day life in the USA, through the court system, everything.  I mean Biden's son being investigated, its all political.

Trump supporters of course would say the same, all political against him.

I think I need a neck-brace from shaking my head in disgust.

Politico: Trump’s become a runaway train in the GOP primary. Here’s why.

They’re more conservative than other Republicans. More likely to be men. Less likely to have graduated from college.

And they’re way more confident they’ve made up their minds, even though the first primary or caucus is still four months away.

That’s the coalition former President Donald Trump has assembled in asserting his dominance over the Republican presidential primary.

SJB:  America needs Trump to die.

True, but his death must be unambiguously due to natural causes.

I would suggest being struck by lightning at one of his hate rallies.

That should satisfy even the MAGA Evangelicals.

Beware of Fake News:

The Simpsons did not predict the death of Donald Trump on 27 August 2020, despite Twitter claims.

This claim is often accompanied by this doctored image of Trump lying in a coffin.

As much as I loathe Trump, calling for his death is a slippery slope I do not want to go down. Much better if he ends up in jail, or becomes so obviously demented that his followers lose faith in him.

With the first he becomes a martyr and with the second, well he's obviously already demented and it makes no difference to his acolytes.

Believe it or not, even Trumpettes have limits. They adore him because he has convinced them he will always come out on top in the end. In jail he will gradually fade from the news as his appeals run out. He will age as his access to cosmetics and coiffure is restricted. He will become the ultimate loser as the years stretch ahead of him without relief. His people, not known for their expansive attention spans, will wander off to stare at the sun. He will be forgotten as memories of him are pushed aside by the latest cartoon clown show.

Wouldn't that be nice?

Having said that, I don't want Trump to die - but having said that, even if he did keel over tomorrow I have no doubt that there would plenty of the MAGA crowd ready to step in and take his place. Whether there would be a power struggle between them all or not would remain to be seen.
