Apples and oranges. Mass murder by someone with serious mental health issues versus deliberate terrorism in the name of a religion are very different things.

Not really. The end result isn't just for those who were killed, but it also is going to cause huge psychological damage on those caught up in it who survived. At least with a lone person with mental health problems, you know it is more of a one off, and their is a low risk of it reoccurring. But with terrosim, you don't know what will happen next, and those people will always be living in fear. This is really just a continuation of what has been happening since 9/11, and before.

This is one reason IMO that Britain voted for Brexit, and the US voted for Trump. People want change.

That's a good point. Because of frequency and association, terrorist attacks appear predictable.

When you look at what happened in the USA recently with the non-terrorist mentally ill or extremely intoxicated ex-serviceman driving into shoppers, perhaps that is predictable also.

It's a very sad state the world is in when a small number of people are easily convinced that terror is the solution to the worlds problems, and perhaps even a solution to their own personal problems. It's even sadder when innocent people are blamed for the actions of terrorists.

Trump has said he will obviate the 'evil losers'. Thats a step in the right direction IMO.

Brexit makes it harder (or at least, in theory it does) for Britain to end up a destination for ne'er-do-wells with malicious intent who wander into Europe as 'refugees' when fools like Merkel open the gates.

Trump, I can't help you with other than I suppose that there is an outside chance he might do us a favour and turn a swathe of the middle east into a Fallout 4 live action park.

My wife's family all live within an hour of Manchester although fortunately none of them were anywhere near the concert. As I said elsewhere, there are places up there which you simply would not recognise as 'Britain'. Fool politicians have a lot to answer for.

For every 'evil' person you successfully bomb from high, you create two or more new recruits from the aftermath.

That's what got us to where we are now.

The only thing Trump will achieve is an acceleration of the terror machine.

Whats the alternative? Sit back and let these attacks continue? And hope that they will just go away?

The attacks are accelerating and will continue to accelerate regardless of Trump or not.

Interesting but a little out of date as it excludes 2016/2017. Deaths in western Europe in 2016 were the highest in over a decade.

The media does fuel the fear, whenever the word 'terrorism' is used.
