I don't understand how could he, based on news like this.

Not the same as bank rolling, but not involved in the decisions any more by the sounds of it.

Why do we seem to allow people who don't reside in NZ to get involved in our National Politics? Surely NZ Citizenship AND being a current NZ resident should both be mandatory for leadership roles in political parties,

FWIW, you're (with some minor exceptions) qualified to be an MP if you're qualified to vote. And the eligibility for voting is pretty lightweight. You're entitled to vote if you're a citizen or permanent resident, AND (at some stage, not right before the election) you've lived in New Zealand for more than a year AND you've been in NZ (even for a visit) at some stage in the last 3 years (citizens) or last 12 months (PRs).

It think this is probably right? If you're on an OE for a few years, you're still allowed to vote. If you've been gone a decade without a visit, you're not. But maybe it would be better to tighten up at least a little those who can stand for parliament.

They had some real prospect for the future-
Going from a party that started badly, but could actually have a future now since they have gotten rid of Kim and Hone Harawira. But instead they are going down the path of conspiracy and stupidity.

As in many countries, there are two dominant parties. But a minority party can make a difference. Maori, NZ First, Dunne's one. But, good to get rid of the marketing hype ones, but as you say, its stupidity. Get real, get honest, and get votes. Make a difference. We can all read conspiracy.com ourselves if required.
