Wiggum: PC nonsense aside, IMO we all (including politicians) should all be able to say/ask whatever we like when it comes to elections (hate speech aside). Ministers/MP's who are easily offended, should probably rather seek a career change.

This is a personal bugbear of mine. Avoiding "PC nonsense" really just means don't be an a$$hole. If a politician can't communicate effectively without behaving like a 14 year old school boy then I have to question their competence.

Politics is inherently about communication and leadership. Just as the moral majority got on their soap box about how Metira Turei botched her message about beneficiaries so do other groups complain about Morgan using a lame phrase which could obviously be offensive to a woman leader.

Pig on a lipstick comment is by no means offensive. But then, some people these days will get offended no matter what you say.

Politics is a dirty business, and comments such of these are perfectly normal. At least Jacinda is not taking offense, which shows she is the better person. No need for the PC brigade to jump onto this one.

Rubbish. Its a childish comment. I am sure as an adult he could articulate it in other ways, but OTOH its good for the population to view immaturity before they cast their vote

In NZ politics isnt a dirty business, it is in the US, and Im not referring to Trump. US elections are typically dirty laundry to eliminate the other person.

Edit, maybe you should castigate English and Bennett for being the PC brigade, given they admonished the comment?

Before you write off the Internet party, as just another "silly little party", you may want to go and have a look at some of their policies.

Some of them are actually quiet good, and are in fact "real world" issues. What about the Privacy and Internet Freedom policy, or Copyright Reform and CC? If its your opinion that these are silly little non world issues then your head is really very far in the sand. Kim Dot Com is a politician, and he has some good proposed policies. Other than that, he is also a crook, and a disgrace to our political system. A dirty politician, and probably one of the dirties of the lot.

You left out Winston.

Very true, I think many people these days are far too be easily offended. Regular comments/words nowadays like, "my wife", "man", "woman", "lady", "housewife", "man power" are deemed offensive. Its crazy.

I think it boils down to the fact that the left is more interested in creating "safe places". We have created a society that is so easily offended and so focused on petty little problems. We more focused on what comes out of other peoples mouths. The focus is therefore shifted to these petty problems instead of focusing on all of our real problems at hand.
