kingdragonfly: Today, the USA list price for a single vial of insulin is more than $250. The price has doubled in six years.

You have got to be kidding. I actually seriously do not believe that. Surely there are other sources of close enough patentless formulas available and widely used in USA instead of this one? This one sounds like it exists purely as a recommended retail price opportunity for a fully unsubsidised private hospital to add to insurance bills.

Edit: I'm not 100% sure what your point is in relation to China but goodness me I've gone off topic with a kneejerk!

My point is, while you can't trust China, you also can't trust the US.

Neither has the world's best interest at heart, and we are just a strategic port in the Pacific

Honestly, I don't know why we're part of Five Eyes. Let the US do it's own spying.

We are just enabling the US, and affecting our trade with China, negatively affecting our economy.

If you don't believe me about the Insulin prices, google "insulin price doubled" or check out the URL I've already provided.

Price-setting in a free-market capitalist system is to set at "the maximum the market will bear".  If not, then you're "leaving money on the table".  Ask Apple if that concept can be made to work in an arguably "competitive" market.

This truism is disputed in that people don't understand what "the market" means.  In the US the problem with drug prices is exacerbated by market failures - regulatory capture by way of having lawmakers in the pockets of corporates, and a misunderstanding of the role of private insurers to keep a lid on prices by forcing competition.  There's no way that insurance companies want healthcare without insurance to be "affordable" - that would destroy their market model. That is the market.

There's even an "open insulin" project attempting to "biohack" insulin production in order to produce affordable insulin.

One of his appointees no doubt.

Proof that walls don't work - the White House has walls, but still got infiltrated by gangs of criminals, lechers, and undesirable morons.

Why Chinese Tech Giant Huawei Scares the U.S.

Bloomberg

"Huawei has been rocked by political and legal turmoil at a time when it also happens to be poised to build the worldwide 5G revolution. Is the timing a coincidence, or a coordinated attempt to knock China's biggest company down a peg? This is the story of how Huawei went from a small-time parts reseller to the homegrown tech giant China always hoped for, and the west always feared."

I think we should pull out of five eyes,

We're US lackeys, just like we were British servants.

China is a bully also. The one thing about China you can say is they have a longer view than the US.

Let the big boys duke it out,and leave us out of it.
