gzt: That sounds like a really bad idea.
Which
Good. These idiots aren't going away. There's no real consequence for the huge amount of disruption they deliberately set out to create.
My guess, to paraphrase a high-brow philosophical argument, is that they 'won't like it up them' once the shoe is on the other foot. I hope that if anyone gets hurt, it's not the counter-protestors, or the kids these idiots are dragging along while under the guise of 'protecting family'.
One hopes that the general public joins the FARC OFF protests, particularly those that were affected by the past protests.
I did see somewhere that if you post on Tamaki's FB page "feel free to point out [his] wealth - they [his supporters] don't like that being mentioned" - I bet they don't! 😄
You're right - but should people just stand idly by and let Tamaki do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, all in the name of "freedom" (read: his freedom to do what he wants, not yours or mine) or actually say, well, no, you don't represent the majority here, even though you think you do, and I might stand up and say something about it?
Dylan Reeve (An Anti-fascist researcher/independant journalist) posted a few points about the counter protest on Twitter. Basically saying yes it is a good thing to have happen, if it can be done safely and had a few pointers for keeping yourself and others with you safe as he doesn't expect the anti-mask/vaccine/mandate/etc group to take very kindly to any sing of push back. I don't have a link right now but when I get home I will see if I can dig it up.

You let him be, you acknowledge him, he has value. When others protest against him, thats fair.
What works me is that his prey are generally poor people, honest as the day is long, and have religious faith. That is what he exploits.
A quick Google:
Former Destiny Church members claim families are pressured to give "love offerings" and other cash donations above the expected 10 per cent tithe.
The claim comes as TV3 confirms it has sold broadcast time to the church - funded by Destiny's new "Give It Heaps" campaign which asks families to give $2000 over seven months.
The church came under scrutiny last week after the walkout of Brisbane pastor Andrew Stock and a number of his members. Replacement pastors were sent across the Tasman to take over the church and church leader Brian Tamaki said that members who did not give money were "robbing" God.
He no doubt has marketing prowess, but he is a parasite. But using parasitic behaviour on the poor, honest and faithful is shocking

Nailed it.
Everyone is equal but some are more equal than others, G.O.
I agree with you - I note that the people who tend to be the most generous donators are the ones who can usually least afford it, or think that he will be their salvation, when I reckon that all the money they give is going to personally line his pockets instead.
Almost like Scientology, albeit on a much smaller (but still significant) scale.
I think the other issue is people are frustrated that he seems to be able to conspire to break the law with impunity, and so much of our 'law and order' is now more about law after the fact and doing very little preserve order itself.
quickymart:
“Any unsafe or dangerous behaviour occurring throughout the event will be followed up by police and appropriate action taken.”
“Police recognise the public’s right to protest peacefully and lawfully but we will take action where required.”
This better happen, otherwise the Police are passively encouraging aggressive non law abiding protests. Im sure if I went to my local CBD and aggravated other people, caused a disturbance, broke a law, I'd be given a free taxi to the fingerprint department.
