If I recall they are saying her immigration policy is like Trump's in that she wants to limit the number of work visas issued. The same as him. Also Trump has talked about a points based system for issuing them similar to how our system currently works. Not that she is going to ban muslims or build a wall. Basically the comparison to Trump was a very broad strokes sort of thing to try to drive eyeballs to their article.

Trumps ban is a moslem ban, thats his immigration policy, so yes, likening it to that.

But thats not what the tweet, or the original article is about. You missed it, you read the local biased/opinionated news source, and you were fooled. It explains a lot actually about how the NZ media influences our opinions.

This is part of the reason as to why I did not post a link in my original post about this topic. Stuff news is useless.

Your funny

I didnt read the article or were fooled, YOU sent it to me. Had I seen the article I would have smiled and not bothered, as obviosuly its not worth a read.

It does seem to have fooled you as you read it. You should bypass foolhardy reporting

What the hell are you talking about? There is no Washington Post article. You are linking to a Wall Street Journal article which is behind a paywall. I think you are just blowing smoke to try to make an impression. The same article (not behind a paywall) can also be found here. It has nothing to do with any Muslim ban.

I think you have jumped into a conversation without a clue, or reading any of the previous posts. I was not the one making the comparison to the Muslim ban.

My bad though on the "washington post" reference. I really mean to say WSJ, which is the one I linked.

Yep. Managing immigration is a normal policy, its not worth any news. Doesnt matter if a nation wished to increase or decrease it, its boringly normal.

Most people associate Trump + Immigration to his moslem ban, so foolish eyes will be fooled

Now you talking porkies.

I did not send you any "stuff.co.nz" article. I merrily sent you a link so that you can go google for the correct information yourself. You chose the stuff article, and it is that article which you based you opinion on.

If you read the WSJ article you would have realized that this has got nothing to do with a Muslims ban. You the one that brought that up, and saw a resemblance.

I think you are acting without a clue, you choose to criticise Stuff and NZ journalism in a thread about en election candidate. Should have started a NZ Journalism thread to work on you're latest trend

You sent a link that googled the term, giving a number of links, mainly Stuff, so why are you playing games? Why not send the link YOU referred to instead of trying to mislead? It would have been far simpler to state that this article said this and Stuff said that, rather than misleading by referring the correct article but using a link that focuses on a different article. Very silly IMHO Just playing games, you need to be more serious

I only started to criticize Stuff, and NZ journalism after you made the comparison to Trumps Muslim Ban. Because thats the same opinion painted by the Stuff reporter. Unfortunately the reporter went on his own tangent about Trump (it had nothing to do with the WSJ tweet, or article). You bought into it, ranted a bit about it and introduced the muslim ban into this conversation. Not me.

I dont see the need to start another thread, my original comment "Now she is being compared to Trump" was just that, if you wanted further citation you should have looked for it. It was all over the radio yesterday, and as you have already pointed out also on stuff. Just because she is being compared to Trump it seems to have gotten your back up. There certainly are some similarities here. Her immigration policy is actually great IMO, and I am not at all against it.

I'm not trying to mislead you, if anyone has been misled its you. Because you bought into the stuff article. I sent you a link to google, which just googled the phrase. (you selected/you clicked) In fact even if you read the stuff report properly you would have seen that the only reference point the journalist had for the biased opinionated article was a tweet. You could have clicked on that and it would have taken you right to the WSJ news article. If you used your initiative you may have realized that the reporter was pretty biased in his/her reporting style.

+1 for both of you. It will seriously make my life more pleasant, and I would not have the urge to reply to your ridiculous posts.

Its politics after all. They rarely end in agreement and/or well.

I remember as a kid when we use to visit certain family, my Mom always use to remind my Dad before arriving, "No discussions about Politics or religion". I never understood it, I do now!

Just because a discussion is political it does not mean that normal courtesy and respect cannot be maintained
