I think that's one for the election thread. I see Maine looks like it will join soon. Did any other states join in the last six years?

Yes, it is remarkable. Remarkable that someone who's a self-declared "stable genius" isn't actually smart enough to know when to close his big lying mouth and just let things go.

I hope she sues him again, Christ alone knows he deserves it.

It's impressive... he's singlehandedly created the concept of a vexatious defendant!

Salon - "Americans must electorally mercy-kill the Republican Party"

11 March 2024

Short extracts from a frightening opinion piece - a recommended read

What if Donald Trump defeats President Biden and takes control of the White House in 2025?

He has already announced his plans to become the country’s first dictator, and to launch a reign of terror and revenge against his so-called enemies. ...

Dictator Trump’s reign of terror will be made even worse by the fact that as shown during recent speeches, interviews, and at other events he appears to be encountering severe difficulties in cognition, language, and memory. ...

There will be a horrific synergy between the worst people [who] seek political power and a leader who appears to have a diseased mind – which makes Trump easily manipulated by individuals and forces who are even more malevolent and dangerous than he is.  ...

One can but live in hope that these traits become even more obvious prior to election day and also rely on the fact that most Americans are smart enough not to want a blathering imbecile as their leader.

Only around 50% of them don't.

Dont worry "God" will appoint someone to help him make the USA a christo-facist state where compulsory tithes to the church will be required.

I have more faith in the American people than that.

The only church that will have that right will be the "church" of tRump. It will be fascist but certainly not christo despite what one person may allude to. I'd be willing to bet the last time tRump darkened the doorway of a church would have been for his MIL's funeral and even then I'm not sure that took priority over his campaign.

To be fair that could be said about most populations including here in New Zealand.

Surprise!   🙄

The Washington Post - Trump seeks delay in N.Y. trial pending Supreme Court hearing on immunity

11 March 2024

NEW YORK - Donald Trump on Monday sought to delay his New York criminal trial, scheduled to start March 25, with claims related to presidential immunity, which several legal experts described as an attempt at distraction unlikely to work on the judge overseeing the case. ...

The New York trial is expected to be the first of four possible criminal trials against Trump, marking the first time a former U.S. president has faced such a charge. ...

This is a desperate move by somebody who wants to be sure that none of the trials can possibly happen in time to inform the voters before the election in November,” said George Washington University Law School professor Catherine Ross.

He shouldn't get away with claiming immunity for things done before taking office.
