Raw Story - Trump threatened with 'arrest and imprisonment' in all-caps order to appear at hearing

16 April 2024

New York Justice Juan Merchan made it clear that Donald Trump would be arrested and imprisoned if he did not show up for a court hearing next week. ...

"WARNING: YOUR FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT MAY RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE ARREST AND IMPRISONMENT FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT," Merchan's filing said with an all-caps heading.

That should get his attention ...  😦

It looks like the thin ice for Trump and his lawyers is cracking.

The judge has told Trump if he tries to intimidate any further, the Judge will dump the entire pool as tainted, and remove Trump from being present. Please Trump, do it once more, please. Not only that but warned the entire case can be heard without him.

I do think putting Trump behind bars for a bit, in a real jail, might give him a taste of what REaLLY having no control is like, which might buck his ideas up. I think Trump knows hes looking at a conviction that he cant even pardon himself from. I do wonder if convicted, if that could expediate the "nat security documents" case, with a new judge.

Trump is someone who is used to always being deferred to and getting his own way. He has limited self-discipline.

Which essentially all of his cases are the product there of,, his own actions in getting his own way of what he wants by illegal means.

another insult for his ego was being dropped off the Forbes billionaire list due to the slip of truth social, which has slipped further and expected to tank much further.

This was seen with not being able to come up with the $500M cash, which supposedly there are some serious issues behind the ~$130M bond. If so it will be interesting to see if they seek to take the likes of Trump Towers.

Ooooh. Trump is shaking, surely /sarcasm

Discarding the pool and removing Trump from the premises will do nothing. They will still have to select a jury, again. Wasted time, which only helps Trump.

Trump is someone who is used to always being deferred to and getting his own way. He has limited self-discipline. Sitting in a chair all day while lawyers drone on about mostly obscure things is taxing to anyone. I am convinced he will have a total melt-down at some point in the trial. He will have real problems with this.

In other words, the American equivalent of British landed gentry, educated at elite boarding schools, and instilled with the belief that they'll eventually be the lord of the family castle complete with servants. Think Jacob Rees-Mogg and his ilk.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

True, but this judge is not accepting many stalling tactics already, outside this one scenario. I don't see how it wont be completed well before elections, especially with people flipping on him.

Im more interested to see, if convicted, what the public reaction will be in regard to cognitive dissonance. Clearly some of his base will believe him no matter what and these convictions are deep state lies etc. But I would expect some more moderates to start questioning there bias and morals and just how much influence do external countries have on the maga group.

It will be interesting either way.

What will also be interesting is what judges in the other 3 cases not likely heard before Nov, if found guilty, what they will do with him. Can you really run a Govt from behind bars? I guess there is a way to find out haha.

These early tantrums are only going to get worse the more his liberty is denied from him. :-)

Those are some bangers from the comic community today. I find the skill far greater than most ai like memes etc. Much like quality poetry.

I wonder how much snooze time he gets during trials.

In New York, many years when Gulliani still had some respect, he campaigned to reduce crime, in particular in Time Square.

The most prominent of his policy changes was the aggressive policing of lower-level crimes, a policy which has been dubbed the "broken windows" approach to law enforcement.

In this view, small disorders lead to larger ones and perhaps even to crime.

As Mr. Guiliani told the press in 1998, "Obviously murder and graffiti are two vastly different crimes. But they are part of the same continuum, and a climate that tolerates one is more likely to tolerate the other."

I remember a minor criminal had three offense: two of bad checks, totaling less than $100, one of a bike theft. He received 25 years. I believe it was mandatory sentence of 18 years before appeal. This was because
  • it was his third offence
  • the value of the bicycle was over $1,000, and it became grand larceny.
Anyhow back to Trump, if Trump continues to grumble during the proceedings, as he is mentally unable to STFU, the judge will likely him throw him out of court for the remaining of the trial (with luck he'll he'll also get some minor time in jail.)

This could be a win-win:

Win for the judge, he can assign his clerks to keep an eye on Trump's media releases, and the judge doesn't have to keep one eye on the baby.

Win for Trump (unfortunately): he can stop being forced to act like an adult, he can get on the campaign trial. Stupidity briefly wins again.

Naaaah, back then in Nuremberg you didn't waste any time and were clearly faster! 😉

Trump falling asleep again today, the description sounded like those days where you just cant help having a nod, nod, nod lol. Hes losing cognitive capability some have said.

Poor Don, missing Barons graduation, was this the kid he was sleeping with a porn star while his wife just gave birth?

Evidently hes failed to attend what sounds like all his kids graduation.

Hes naming it a "Biden kangaroo court", regardless that Biden has zero to do with this.

You break the law, you gotta suck it up and try to not snore lol

Really appreciate the cartoons, something to make some fun out of following this.
