“He didn’t like that idea too much, but actually, it’s not the worst idea I’ve had,” Trump told the Christian group.

Sad, but very true.  In the ranking of dumb ideas he's had it's probably only about halfway down the list.

Way off subject, but funny story about Christian Men's retreat Trump mentioned in passing.

When they meet, they arrange "manly" entertainment such as monster truck shows, motocross exhibits, rodeo bull riding.

They invited a famous sword swallower this time.

Sword swallower perform shirtless, to show the audience they are actually swallowing the sword, not some magic illusion.

Key note speaker Pastor Mark Driscoll was kicked out of previous church, after nineteen church elders complained about "mistreatment", of being "domineering, verbally violent, arrogant, and quick-tempered." He was also accused of mismanaging church funds.

Like many conservatives before him, it sounds like he struggles with his internalized homophobia, self-hatred toward their own sexual orientation.

USA Today: 'Jezebel spirit': Pastor kicked off stage at Christian conference in Missouri

A guest pastor was kicked off the stage at a Christian conference over the weekend after he criticized a sword-swallowing act and called transgender people demons.

"The Jezebel spirit opened our event," Mark Driscoll, founder and former pastor of the Mars Hill Church, said at the Stronger Men's Conference in Springfield, Missouri.

The conference, an annual event hosted by the James River Church, "exists to inspire and equip men to live out God’s vision for manhood to be the husbands, fathers, and leaders God has called them to be," according to a news release. It was held at the Great Southern Bank Arena on April 12 and 13.

Driscoll's remarks came following a performance from Alex Magala, a sword-swallower who took off his shirt, climbed up a pole and swallowed a sword live at the conference, according to reporting by Newsweek.

"Before the word of God was opened, there was a platform, it was a high place," said Driscoll, according to videos posted online. "On it was a pole ... the same thing that's used in a strip club for women who have the jezebel spirit to seduce men."

Sorry to continue, but as Pastor Mark Driscoll was getting the boot he mentions, Matthew 18:19–20, by verse only. It deals with church discipline, conflicts within the church.

If a brother sins against you, you should address it directly. If that doesn’t work, involve one or two more witnesses.

It's often misused by evangelists as a "prayer formula": If two or more people agree on something and pray for it, God will answer.

Considering the Pastor's history, he must be an expert about complaints from fellow Christians.

The Guardian: Trump made Nazi ‘ovens’ joke in Jewish executives’ presence, ex-employee says

A former employee of Donald Trump’s pre-presidency organization has publicly claimed that he once made jokes about Nazi “ovens” while Jewish executives were in the same room.

Barbara Res – a lead engineer on the construction of Trump Tower and author of a memoir, Tower of Lies, about her almost two decades working for the former president – told MSNBC on Sunday that her erstwhile boss would make “ridiculous remarks”.

“We had just hired a residential manager, a German guy,” Res said. “And Donald [Trump] was bragging among – to us executives, there were four of us – about how great the guy was and he was a real gentleman, and he was so neat and clean. And he looked at a couple of our executives who happen to be Jewish, and he said, ‘Watch out for this guy – he sort of remembers the ovens,’ you know, and then smiled.

Guys, I really don't believe that America will shoot itself in the foot again by re-electing Trump.

However, if this black event does actually occur, at least this will present a conclusion, rather than the endless speculation that we've had, and will continue to have if the Dems get in, because Trump will  keep on ranting about stolen elections for the next 4,8,12 or more years.

Of course, if he does get in, and manages to alter\amend,destroy the Constitution as he's promised, all bets are off. America will probably end up annexed by the China\Russian\Iran\North Korean alliance anyway.

With apologies to Stalin, one stupid, ignorant, vulgar, despicable man is a tragedy. 100 million is a statistic.

A bit dark.

Stalin reportedly interrupted a speech about the famine in Ukraine, stating that if only one person dies of hunger, it’s a tragedy, but if millions die, it’s merely statistics.

Though speaking on stupid and ignorant, of the approximate 324 million American, at least 50 percentbelieve in at least one conspiracy theory, ranging from ideas like the 9/11 attacks being fake to the belief that former President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S.

"For example, take Pizzagate, the theory that Washington elite engaged in child sex trafficking at the basement of a D.C. pizzeria, which 9% of the American population believe to be true."

But 1/3 of Americans are nowhere close to being as vulgar and despicable as Trump.

OK, I didn't say anything the first time but since someone else has now added to it: Stalin never said that, the closest anyone's come to a legitimate source was a German satirist in the 1930s.

Edited to add: Sorry, it was quoted by a German satirist from a French original, probably this one from 1924, at which point Stalin was still engaged in infighting over who would take over from Lenin.  So it's most likely French humour, definitely not a Stalin quote.

I wish I had the confidence to agree with you - remember 2016? Almost every poll in the world said Hillary was going to win, and we know how that ended 🙁

Then again I think if the American populace is stupid enough to vote the orange buffoon in again, well...as the saying goes, you made your bed...

No, what Stalin said was, if he shot Trump on 5th Avenue it'd be a statistic but the NRA and SCOTUS would say it was a tragedy.

A version I've heard is that Biden has been prepping for the debate by visiting care facilities and arguing with dementia patients.
