Cool but I think you've drifted off topic a little bit there.

Anyway, I'll be interested to see if Biden does step aside or not as I read somewhere that Trump now wants him to stay in the race as he thinks Biden would be easier to beat than, say, Kamala Harris.

The next few days will be quite important to Biden's campaign (and Trump's).

What a load of crap and yet another lie. I bet he knows exactly who they are (his campaign has been running ads featuring this crap) and he knows what they're planning if he wins the election, it will probably be his blueprint for another term!

More info on this "project" here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025

Anyone know where to find an original copy of that Project 2025 'poster'?

In fact, this story shows Trump meeting with Kevin, the actual founder of this "Project 2025" thing. So, once again, when backed into a corner, the orange buffoon says "I don't know them" (see above) or "I barely know them". Yeah right 🙄

In those quotes he's talking about the president of the Heritage Foundation, not the guy running Project 2025.  We don't know if he knew Project 2025 was run by the Heritage Foundation, but the quotes certainly don't support him endorsing Project 2025.

When so many in Project 2025 are from Trumps government it is really hard to believe he doesn't know anything about it.

It is more likely that it is another Trump lie.

From Wikipedia:

Project 2025 partners employ over 200 former officials from the Trump administration.[61] Notable authors of the project's Mandate for Leadership include many officials and advisors from the Trump administration, including Jonathan Berry, Ben Carson, Ken Cuccinelli, Rick Dearborn, Thomas Gilman, Mandy Gunasekara, Gene Hamilton, Christopher Miller, Bernard McNamee, Stephen Moore, Mora Namdar, Peter Navarro, William Perry Pendley, Diana Furchtgott-Roth, Kiron Skinner, Roger Severino, Hans von Spakovsky, Brooks Tucker, Russell Vought, and Paul Winfree.

The NY Times - Varying Treatment of Biden and Trump Puts Their Parties in Stark Relief

05 July 2024

One of America’s political parties has a presidential candidate who is really old and showing it.

The other has a presidential candidate who is a convicted felon, adjudicated sexual abuser, business fraudster and self-described aspiring dictator for a day. And also really old.

One of the parties is up in arms about its nominee and trying to figure out how to replace him at the last minute. The other is not.

The spectacle of the week since the nationally televised debate between President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump has thrown into sharp relief two political parties that agreed to be led by flawed putative nominees ...

While Biden had the worst debate performance in all of presidential history, Trump’s was likely the second-worst,” said Jeffrey A. Engel, director of the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University.

Yet we hear crickets from Republicans after their presumptive nominee was incoherent, rambling and utterly divorced from the truth. Oh, and also a convicted felon.”

Yes, I didn't say he was endorsing them, I was trying to point out that his comment basically saying "I don't know a single thing about them or what they do" (paraphrased) was a blatant lie. Look at that list of people Jarled posted involved with it - there's no way Trump can claim he has "absolutely no knowledge" of the thing, when it's staffed by a large number of his former employees.

Similar to this recent official post from the Chinese Police Online: "What kind of pictures do people submit every day? If you don't understand this, join the discussion and tell use what you think it is."

It shows a picture of a restrained monkey in pain, with the caption "Interrogator: 'Tell us, where is you main fleet?' Monkey: 'I'm the main fleet.'"

It's an obvious racist post about the Philippines spat with China, calling Filipinos monkeys. Again this from the official Chinese police.

“Dog whistles” is a popular technique by right-wingers like Trump and Musk.

The term “dog whistles” refers to post that appear ordinary but convey hidden, often derogatory messages to a specific subset of the audience, almost always the extreme right-wing. (Extreme left-wing are usually not subtle like "f__k the police")

These right-wing coded messages will use phrases like “law and order,” “inner city,” and “states’ rights” have been identified as covert racist codes.

It allows deniability: While critics often infer an intention to send a racist message from a speaker’s use of certain phrases, those accused of dog whistling may deny having such an intention.

Dog whistles are subtle communications misleading by design.

Worth a look. There are only extracts from the paper but it explains why and how certain speakers can appear to be saying one thing but meaning something else.

Trump may not exactly endorse them but he's definitely quite close to them.

It seems that many people in Iran want their country to be more like America.

Equally apparent now is that many Americans intend to make their country more like Iran.
