Bung: Immunity for the President doesn't cover the rest of Cabinet. "The I was following orders" defense hasn't flown since 1945.

When you've got the Pardon Fairy as your boss that becomes more or less irrelevant.

You may also have a 'lifelong' Supreme Court that would happily dismiss any case where you were following the Presidents orders.

Lower courts the President and party can stack these, and with immunity for various actions make it more comfortable for undesireable Judges to retire or leave.

In the face of dictatorial forces the Judges change or they 'Change'
Look at Hong Kong.

If you also think this has cemented in that its a Presidents Acolytes
or Family into the conceivable future as well.
You may not consider there is any risk to you.

AlterNet - Trump hosts 'Russian puppet' Viktor Orbán as Biden hosts NATO leaders

11 July 2024

President Joe Biden this week has been hosting the leaders of the 32 nations that form the 75-year old alliance known as NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and at 6:30 PM ET the leader of the free world will hold an unscripted, “high stakes” press conference with reporters to detail their progress.

Also Thursday evening, ex-president Donald Trump, the convicted felon who remains out on bail and is still facing 54 criminal counts, will reportedly host the authoritarian Christian nationalist prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, at Mar-a-Lago.

President Biden’s remarks will be televised nationwide. Donald Trump’s meeting will not.

Trump’s meeting with Orbán comes just one week after the far-right autocrat met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, and just days after Orbán met with China’s President Xi Jinping ...

Thursday will be Trump’s second meeting this year with Orbán.

BBC News - Gasps heard in media centre as Biden gaffes, again

An audible gasp just went up in the media centre here as President Biden introduced Ukraine’s leader to the stage, calling him “President Putin”.

Within moments, Biden walked back to the microphone and corrected himself saying: “President Putin? We’re going to beat Putin,” then correctly introducing him as President Zelensky.

The moment was being broadcast on huge screens in here the international media centre where the slip up caused the stunned reaction.

And that was scripted Biden. He was reading from a teleprompter in a set-piece event.

Game, set and match? 😟

EDIT:  At his press conference, Biden mistakenly called Kamala Harris 'Vice-President Trump'.

EDIT:  Biden said that he - the American commander in chief - would consult “my commander in chief” on questions about arming Ukraine.

Before he became the 6th President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was a comedian who played a fictional Ukrainian president in the popular TV series Servant of the People.

Zelensky is a hero. He has risen to the occasion as few can. Ukraine must win so future generations can tell his story and build legends about it.

Stunning Report Reveals Just How Closely Trump Is Tied to Project 2025.  That's not the interesting bit, it's further down:

Self-described “gay furry hackers” behind a group dubbed SiegedSec on Wednesday released text exchanges between Heritage Foundation executive Mike Howell and a member of the hacker group. The texts followed a leak of nearly two gigabytes of data from The Daily Signal, the Heritage Foundation’s blog site.

In the texts, Howell appears apoplectically humorless, oscillating between threats to expose the hackers and hopes for violence against them. Howell is a columnist for The Daily Signal, the site whose subscriber data SiegedSec leaked amid a spree of other leaks. The hacked data included the “full names, email addresses, passwords, and usernames” of people associating with the Heritage Foundation, one spokesperson of the gay furry hacktivists said, in order to shed “transparency to the public regarding who exactly is supporting” the conservative think tank.

“Are you aware that you won’t be able to wear a furry tiger costume when you’re getting pounded in the ass in the federal prison I put you in next year?” Howell asked a member of SiegedSec who identified themselves as “vio.”

“Please share widely,” Howell told the hacker group after they asked if they could release their text exchanges with Howell. “I hope the word spreads as fast as the STDs do in your degenerate furry community.”

“meow :3” vio responded.

This article is making right-winger angry, with lots of social media posts. They don't like the publicity, and rather operate from the shadows.

Politico: Trump allies prepare to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in second administration

An influential think tank close to Donald Trump is developing plans to infuse Christian nationalist ideas in his administration should the former president return to power, according to documents obtained by POLITICO.

Spearheading the effort is Russell Vought, who served as Trump’s director of the Office of Management and Budget during his first term and has remained close to him. Vought, who is frequently cited as a potential chief of staff in a second Trump White House, is president of The Center for Renewing America think tank, a leading group in a conservative consortium preparing for a second Trump term.

Christian nationalists in America believe that the country was founded as a Christian nation and that Christian values should be prioritized throughout government and public life. As the country has become less religious and more diverse, Vought has embraced the idea that Christians are under assault and has spoken of policies he might pursue in response.

One document drafted by CRA staff and fellows includes a list of top priorities for CRA in a second Trump term. “Christian nationalism” is one of the bullet points. Others include invoking the Insurrection Act on Day One to quash protests and refusing to spend authorized congressional funds on unwanted projects, a practice banned by lawmakers in the Nixon era.

CRA’s work fits into a broader effort by conservative, MAGA-leaning organizations to influence a future Trump White House. Two people familiar with the plans, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal matters, said that Vought hopes his proximity and regular contact with the former president — he and Trump speak at least once a month, according to one of the people — will elevate Christian nationalism as a focal point in a second Trump term.

Shows what happens when you have unlimited money to file frivolous lawsuits.

During the New York trail, that successfully convicted Trump, a real estate lawyer unrelated to the trial approached Judge Arthur Engoron. The lawyer wound up being pro-Trump.

Let me emphasize he had nothing to do with Trump trial. He talked to the judge and said he should find Trump innocent. The lawyer does not represent Trump. He's not a lobbyist to Trump. He not a party to the case.

The judge didn't ask for his advice, and didn't use his advice, obviously since Trump was found guilty, to the effect of $464 million guilty, and the lawyer was asking for Trump to be found innocent.

He's a random New Yorker spouting his pro-Trump opinion to the Judge, so he can get his 15 minutes of fame, and trying to derail justice for Trump.

The Trump lawyers are saying this was illegal ex-parte communication, and even though it was in favour of Trump, Arthur Engoron should be disqualified.

And to paraphrase Judge Engoron, "Yeah we talked. You don't scare me. Unlike Trump, I got nothing to hide."

The Hill: Trump subpoena of outside lawyer over chat with NY civil fraud judge narrowed

The New York judge overseeing former President Trump’s civil fraud case narrowed a subpoena issued to an outside lawyer who said he offered unsolicited advice about the case as the judge’s multimillion-dollar decision was pending.

Judge Arthur Engoron ruled Tuesday that Trump’s subpoena of New York real estate lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey sought to achieve an “improper wholesale fishing expedition” of any communications between himself and the lawyer, noting that Bailey and his firm had appeared before his court “often” and that unrelated conversations would likely be swept up in the broad request.

However, Engoron conceded that the subpoena was not “wholly without merit,” asserting that Bailey’s “extraordinary claims to the media” opened the door for Trump’s lawyers to seek any communications or documents related to their conversation.
...
“I saw him in the corner [at the courthouse], and I told my client, ‘I need to go.’ And I walked over and we started talking. … I wanted him to know what I think and why … I really want him to get it right,” Bailey told NBC New York.

Bailey later added that “the word ‘Donald Trump'” was never mentioned in the conversation, but when asked if it was clear they were discussing Trump’s case, he replied, “Well, obviously we weren’t talking about the Mets.”
