Handle9: That would be a bit of an issue for the entire government who are trying to work.

It's the weekend. That building cleared out by smoko yesterday morning and won't have any work done in it til after lunch on Monday, minimum. Pretty sure no cell coverage for a couple of empty days isn't going to bring it to a screaming halt...

The Wellington City Council should declare all vehicles illegally parked in certain streets as being abandoned by their owners, and therefore free for removal.

No issues with Towies being too frightened to tow them away then

Apparently the Speaker has now got Barry Manilow and Covid 19 ads playing over loud speakers now.

I would of personally gone for long loud bursts of high pitch sounds

IMO if we made a big deal with batons, water guns, force, etc, it gives them what they want, notoriety. Let them simmer in the rain with no late breaking news on TV every hour

Hence my earlier question if the big 3 Telcos could make Parliament grounds a dead zone, when you see them on TV they all have their phones out recording everyone and livestreaming so if you cut their audience off they won't be getting the attention they are seeking

Eve then its rocketing up the protest to be the biggest deal ever. Keep them motivated. Give them no reason to get fired up, they can give speeches to themselves

I imagine most of them won't be moved by the weather, unless they get blown away by a southerly or 3.

I wonder if they're actually going to take concrete action against these morons next week? How long are they allowed to just sit there and be a nuisance? They really are in the minority, honestly - despite what they may think.

The ideal scenario is for the Police and Army to remove them physically, and limit media TV coverage on the news to a 5 second update. Probably cant do the latter. Or leave them there, Parliament can operate for the week remotely, tow cars to pounds as required ($$$), and just arrest them ALL at x date and time, remanded in custody for 2 weeks before going to court. "Its about choice"... and the choice is arrest for breaking the law, but the main deal is to limit media making this mini molehill into a news frenzy, thereby feeding them.

Why not? Its just a logistics thing, unless the police can release enough staff from protecting the wider community in Wellington to tale care of it. If so, thats fine

For a start, there are laws in NZ that prevent our military being used against our own population.
