Rikkitic:

If Americans elect that creature they will get what they deserve. Unfortunately, so will the rest of us.

The world will suffer economically...for a while, but companies in other countries will develop new products to fill in for US ones.

Only 4% of the worlds population are us citizens and the USA needs the world to supply them materials and for their exports, they will suffer even worse than the world will.

The dangers come when China feels emboldened to take Taiwan, NK goes to war with SK, and Russia goes for revenge.

The next danger will be a rapid proliferation of nuclear weapons so those countries can have their own deterrence, both against their normal aggressors, and potentially the USA.

Background info on Republican Governor Jim Justice and West Virginia.

In the past, Republican Governor Jim Justice signed into law a ban on almost all abortions at all stages of pregnancy, making West Virginia the second state to enact a law prohibiting the procedure since the U.S. Supreme Court's June ruling overturning its constitutional protection.

The abortion bill went into effect immediately.

West Virginia ranks third of 50 in household gun ownership. The state falls within the “Weak Systems” tier of gun laws after recently weakening its gun safety laws, including by repealing the concealed carry permitting requirement and forcing higher education institutions to allow guns on campuses.

West Virginia Republicans have passed a bill in the House of Delegates that would effectively open up librarians and educators to criminal prosecution over “obscene” books and materials.

This pro-Trump address is both unhinged and chilling.

Governor Jim Justice addresses Republican National Committee

"I want you to listen to this and pay really close attention. The bottom line to why we are here. The bottom line to every single thing that's going on in this great country today is one thing

We will become totally unhinged if Donald Trump is not elected in November".

Deadline: Elon Musk Says Reports He Will Donate $45M A Month To Pro-Trump Super-PAC Are “Fake Gnus”

Elon Musk appears to have denied a report that he will donate around $45M a month to a pro-Donald Trump super-PAC — calling it “fake gnus”.

The Wall Street Journal, WSJ, reported that Musk had told friends he would contribute to America PAC, while The New York Times reported the group would “likely to draw significant support from Mr. Musk.”

However, Musk responded to the original WSJ story on his X platform with a meme that read “FAKE GNUS” [news]. He had previously written on the platform that he would not be donating to any political party after a previous NYT report noted he had attended a breakfast meeting with Trump and a group of wealthy Republican donors.

The WSJ, which is known for its rigorous editorial standards, has since issued a statement, saying: “We stand by our reporting.”

Yes, despite non-violence being Green Party policy I tend to think that the reality is that we need to align ourselves enough with some military muscle - which means Australia and the US - that China will think twice before looking our way. Of course if Trump gets in, he will try to pull the US back from everything, and that means instead of Australia and the US, it must be Australia and NATO, if they'll have us.

NATO is a defensive alliance. If a NATO country declares war on someone else, nobody else in the alliance is obligated to assist. I think this should go a long way towards satisfying both a policy of non-violence and also the reality that we couldn't defend ourselves against a single modern frigate let alone any military that can reach this far.

Yes, there is. Get shot of (as it were) Trump and his demonic spell will be broken.

Trumps meme stock got its biggest trading day ever after the incident.
Apparently its been releasing more stock to the market to build up cash as well.
So building cash, if no profit to speak of from its twitteresque service.

Of course in Silvio Berlusconi style owning a media company while stumping to be great leader.

Norms of American politics disappear, of financial disclosure.
Divesting oneself of control of businesses, investments in blind trusts and such.
Trump Hotels and Golf Courses made bank on the taxpayer last time etc.

Just watching the 6pm news and Trump finally said something I agree with: 'I shouldn't be here'.

pretty much. the UK ties is the first port of call and hopefully getting aus onboard in those talks. Luxon did attend the NaTO 75th. Of course it will be a stretch to imagine anything but the UK big bang umbrella that might be a deterrent. But NZ and aus should also dramatically increase defense spending imo as a longer term strategy. Possibly aus looking at big bang options, I dunno.

Im so hoping Judge Merchan upholds the 34 felonies and at minimum gives him house arrest. Let the loonies call it weaponization of the court, most sane people know he broke the law with violence not the Dems and this one is a straight up hush money case.

During RNC convention (Trump cult meeting) the RNC showed this two-month old clip.

Congressman praises heckling of war protesters, including monkey gestures at Black woman

Israel-Hamas war demonstrations at the University of Mississippi turned ugly this week when one counter-protester appeared to make monkey noises and gestures at a Black student in a raucous gathering that was endorsed by a far-right congressman from Georgia.

Literally the only time I've seen Trump blow a kiss. Trump looked completed bored when his sons spoke.

You know in Trump's mind, he sees Hulk Hogan when he looks in the mirror.

Donald Trump blows kiss to Hulk Hogan at Republican Convention

Mother Jones: Donald Trump Was Peter Thiel’s Most Successful Investment

In 2004, Peter Thiel invested $500,000 in Facebook, money that quickly gave way to an unthinkable fortune for the right-wing billionaire. But it turns out that it was Thiel’s donation to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign—and his willingness to speak in support of Trump at the Republican National Convention at the time—that has produced perhaps the biggest dividends, transforming him into a genuine oligarch of American politics.

Now, you won’t hear about this in such explicit terms when Trump officially accepts the Republican presidential nomination. But Hulk Hogan’s unexpected appearance on Thursday, shortly before Trump takes the stage, makes the message unmissable. In fact, Hogan’s appearance, which would make him the third Thiel acolyte to be on stage at the RNC this week, is an effective middle finger to critics.

To understand this dynamic, one must reach back to a 2007 online article headlined, “Peter Thiel is totally gay, people.” The piece, published by Gawker Media, had outed the billionaire Palantir-founder and prompted a series of similar articles about Thiel’s private life. To most people, that may have seemed like the end of it. But then in 2012, Gawker published a sex tape featuring Hogan; $10 million in legal help from Thiel later, Gawker was dead—the right-wing billionaire’s retribution was complete.

A couple of take aways from Trump's speech at the RNC.

Firstly he's going to create an Iron Dome missile defence system over America. As the Iron Dome system is for short range missiles only he's obviously worried about being attacked by Mexico or Cuba or maybe Canada.

Secondly Iran was on the point of agreeing to curb its nuclear weapons programme when he lost to Jo Biden conveniently forgetting that it was his policy in withdrawing from the accord with Iran in 2018 that caused them to steam ahead with their enrichment programme.

I thought he was trying to appeal to the old Republicans. He used Ronald Reagan videos, then spoke of "Iron Dome" (which is the name of the Israeli anti-missile system). Reagan's promise to build a "Star Wars" system (Strategic Defense Initiative) brought the USSR to its economic knees.
